Ok, so let me first start with a little info on the project. I want to turn a fully tuned Nissan GT-R '07 into a pure track, time attack monster. The problem is a fully tuned GT-R understeers badly and it's quite un-stable during high speeds (especially at Nurburgring). I fitted all Aero on my GT-R, and the performance so far (listed below)
|856BHP/ 7400RPM|
|91kgfm/ 6400RPM|
|1411Kg| 646PP|

I'm not an expert on tuning, I absolutely have no general knowledge about LSD, Suspension, etc. If anyone can point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated 👍 And a brief, short basic theory behind LSD & Suspension to make a 4WD less understeery :)

Thank you all

Solution = Sell R35 , buy a decent car

Grow up. :p

Seriously, though I loathe the R35 as much as…you, and just about half of the tuning forum does, that's not what you do for helping.

Give me a moment, I'll dig up Praiano's tune for the R35.

I'v been doing some testing and the worst of the worst is the 2012 Black Edition (who happends to be blue).

GTR'07 / V Spec'09 are alright.

:@: Maly if you can get online now , I can see if I can help you , althought I'm a n00b .

PS - Onboy that's a V Spec tune , not a GTR'07

That's because…
1. It's an R35 so it'll never feel "right"
2. You'd have left the stock everything apart from the power, so it'll be like turning a 500hp shed into a 900hp shed.

My GTR '12 is 100% stock ! Only thing I done to him , was driving him.

When turning road cars into full-blown race cars I avoid 4WD when possible as this causes cars to understeer badly in corners; it's just in the nature of 4WD cars.

I've got every car in the game, and I want to make all premium cars into monsters.

I know you were, but still, offer some decent advice after you take a dig at the car, eh? :p

And I've found it. Try this.

I'll give that a go and see how it goes from there, thanks :)

Yeah I know, usually avoid them. Never liked 4WD's lol. But there must be a way to counter 4WD's understeer, maybe if I changed the torque split to 10/90. Play with the LSD, and suspension settings for less drastic understeer.

R35 has a lot of potential to be a track/ Time attack monster, only problem is that it's quite unstable during high speeds at Nurburgring and of course the understeering issue. Currently made a tune that is pretty balanced overall, raced with it yesterday night on Nurburgring and Circuit De La sarthe and it completely destroyed other R35 users, V-Spec's, Black Editions, etc. But still I feel like the tune still can be improved overall. Anyways, I'd love to try out your tune and perhaps review it for you? 👍

That would be sweet, the review that is. I use DS3 controller. I got that tune here now :)

I'm building your tune now, going to test it on 3 tracks (Nurburgring Nordscliefe, Suzuka & Tsukuba) with lap times, while comparing lap time to my tune :) along with a full car review 👍

good good. Cant wait :D

Biggest piece of advice I can give...

Remove the adjustable center diff and LSDs. It'll help a lot versus using them untuned.

Before I begin the review i have to say both tunes are incredibly close, in terms of lap times, performance, etc. :)

Little comparison of lap times & speed test. (Colour coded)

Key - Mine - Yours
0-60 mph - 2.1s - 2.1s
0-100 mph - 4.4s - 4.5s
1/4 Mile - 9.4s - 9.5s
1 Mile - 23.6s - 23.9s
top Speed - 229.5mph - 203.0mph
Tsubuka Lap Time - 50.80 - 50.72
Suzuka Lap Time - 1:53.10 - 1:53.18
Nurburgring Nord Lap Time - 6:12.37 - 6:13.55

Car understeers during low speed corners in tsukuba, however the understeer is fairly low compared to a default tuned GTR. So it's not a real issue, plus once you realise how much it grips you'll go fly through ever turn :sly: (just brake a little early and once you have a comfortable line, accelerate hard) :dopey:
On Suzuka the car experienced some minor corner exit understeer, but it's not a real problem. easily countered with a little brake and throttle control. :)
I was pretty scared trying out the tune on Nurburgring, as when I ran a fully tuned GTR with default settings it didn't end well :nervous: but anyways. I was surprised with how stable the car was at high speed sections of the track and how well it behaved with each bump on the track. I loaded up my tune ghost data replay and I have to say the battle was incredible between the two, it was neck and neck until the final straight where the car reached 203mph (while mine blasted through at 225mph). Back to handling, the GTR handled beautifully, there were a few understeers but nothing of a real concern, very stable on the tracks during all speeds & very easy to control. A massive improvement over the default settings. The only thing i'd change are the gear ratio's to about 225mph - 240mph, other than that an amazing job 👍

On a side noteI think you should start up your own Tuning Garage here :), also I'll send you my tune through PM so you can try it out and compare it if you'd like :sly:

Tune sent through PM.

Maly,

Ophh
I like that, Thanks for the Review, I normally Brake late and use Engine brake to slightly slide back out to get a better line on exit of turns. My times are about 2-4 secs slower then yours, just the way i drive i spose :P

No problem, kinda like testing things out and reviewing them 👍
Have you tired my GTR setup yet? :)
