GT-R "Black Mask"

Sorry if this has been asked before. I ran a search and nothing pertinent came up.

Was racing in one of the 'S' missions last night and this car was heading the pack. It's the GT-R '07, just with covers on the front and rear bumpers. Can this be unlocked somehow?
 
Thanks. I wanted to jump right into the game, so I downloaded a save with all the cars, but apparently there is no record of the events being completed. Guess I'll get busy on that, now.

Completing the game gets you the GT-R 2005 Prototype, and the "Black Mask" was only available on the JPN demo. The car is still in Prologue for use by AI competitors, however.
 
I know the black mask is for the pre-release representations of the car, but I kind of hope it's still available in the final game. I mean, it just looks cool, you know? Make it an option or something, rather than an entirely different car (I've long been a proponent of offering a single car in multiple trims rather than a different car for each trim).

On the same note, I also want to be able to see the "unveiling" animation, with the cloth cover and everything, make it's way into the final game. And the ability to replay it at any time, because it's also so damn cool. :)

I think completing the A class races gets you the GT-R Prototype. I wonder what happens after completing the S class races.

I'm stucked on the S-6 (the one with 10 laps...) and I haven't bought the Ferrari needed for the S-8 yet.
 
Beating S class gets you the 05 GTR prototype.

The blackmask is used in one race by the AI and is not drivable.
 
My mistake. Hmm i feel a little disapointed now, I was hoping for something "better". No doubt the 05 Prototype is a fine car, but Black Mask sounds much cooler...

Whats happening Shaun! Long time dude! I'm hoping to get on the track opening weekend, maybe we can line up a race sometime, hope all is well dude! That skyline sounds really nice, I too hope they put it in the final game (I'm almost certain they will with all the currently 'flavors' or skyline in gt4.)

Hey, Jerome! Long time no race! Once I got my PS3, I pretty much dropped off the WRS scene (ok, maybe a little before that..). Got too interested in running time attacks with the FGT (surprise, surprise). Everything's going well here, and you? Opening weekend . . . so I take it you'll be waiting for the US Prologue release? Got a little bit of a head start on you if that's the case, but it's so different and wonderful compared to GT4 that I'll probably still be adjusting by the time you get online. lol

Whenever you want to set up a race, PM me with a time that's good for you, or just send a PSN message to Turismo-Z when you get online. I'll use that account for all the GTP racers and such.

I never got to experience the X-Link GT4 LAN experience, so this is all rather new to me. I can't say how long I've been waiting for online capability. Can't wait to race with some old familiar faces (names, whatever).
