Hey guys,

What GT-R set up do you use? Is it the standard GT-R with the tyres it comes with from the dealers or is it just a standard GT-R with w/e tyres or is it a Nissan GT-R with all mods except for power mods etc.? I have done several searches and not found any info on this so any answers ed be great 👍

Thanks all

Ahhh right, cheers for that then :) So you can only set the lap during arcade mode yeh?
And it has to be a clean lap. If the lap time appears red it doesn't count.

Yes
I did it last night, took me a few goes as I'm not an excellent driver nor a fast one, and basically had to do it without any mistakes. I found my previous time ghost car really helpful so it's better to set a lap with one and then just work off that, because with the times it gives you telling how much faster you are than your ghost (or slower!) you can see how much time you need to gain to acheive the record in that lap. Sports hard are best

+1
This

That is how I plan to finally complete this. Run one completely clean lap at moderate speed and then try and gain on it gradually.

I'll just keep hammering out lap times, I like the Nurb so I shouldn't have a problem with it once I'm used to the car.

It's not a difficult challenge you just need to be aware that the hard tyres take a little longer to stop the car and adjust your braking points accordingly. I know the Ring very well as I generally do 50-70 laps each week in online races but I just took the standard car, didn't even change the brake balance and ran a laptime of 7:24 seconds on my 1st run.

The hardest part of this challenge is setting a bench mark IMO. I've started countless laps only to over run a kerb here or there and instantly the time has gone red. My best advice other than practice is to do the AMG challenge. It gives you a feel for the track sector by sector, and the guide although vague at times can give you some helpful pointers.

I always fail right at the end of the lap. Whereabouts do you guys brake for the first slow turn after the long straight? I either end up spinning, or crashing into the wall or both. :P
The rest of the lap is fine besides this. :P

I too found the tail of the car is very unstable when braking at high speeds, so I just took that corner very conservatively. I was fast enough for the rest of the lap so I got the trophy. :)

I tried this yesterday, got a 7.30.2 on my second try, and saved the ghost. So 7.29 is by no means an impossible time to beat.

I used that to my advantage. When coming up on a corner I'd brake hard to get the rear to slide out and help me face the way I needed to go. Just tried for this trophy about an hour ago. Ran a 7'28.3.

I ran it with Sport Softs in a few seconds under the target time with the idea of saving the ghost and trying to beat it with Sport Hards. It's a pretty good way to gauge how fast you are. There is no point pulling in lap after lap after lap and failing when you can tell after maybe a minute or 2 that you are going too slow based on your ghost.

With a wheel, this trophy probably isn't too difficult.
With a controller, I dunno.

I tried this with a G27 and won by 6 seconds on the first lap round.
