+1. The Spec V will be the fastest and has the most potential of the R35s. The standard GT-R is more or less the same as the Proto and Black Mask. The Proto and Black Mask are there because they look pretty damn cool.

Since when is a massively overpriced (250,000 vs. 77,000) GT-R with an ultra-ugly bra attached to either end 'cool'? The standard GT-R or the Spec V would be infinitely more attractive buys - I think Nissan and/or PD absolutely butchered the GT-R with those black masks...

the idea of a black mask is to hide exactly what the car looks like during testing where people with cameras are before launch.

why PD felt the need to include it i don't know - rummaging around in the "finished models" bin to bump the premium car amount up probably.

The Black mask is from back before the GTR was revealed and Nissan is still performing tests in the real world, so it had those masks to hide what it look like from the media and nissan's competitors, PD have enough connection to get a glimpse of the GTR before it was offically revealed, but they still did the black mask GTR for prologue till the real deal was shown and they then gave us the final production model for prologue.

It was probably just special to them seeing as how they developed the in dash control and readout display. They had a hand in helping the car come along so to speak so they were probably around for a while during it's production and wanted to include the masked version.

I get that, but they have the final product in the game? The black mask is literally the same car with black tape over parts of it, why would anyone want to drive that?

It's PD after all. They want to play B-Spec, so their decision to include the GT-R Black Mask becomes more understandable. They're retarded.

Hmm...I suppose Ferrari isn't immune to attaching an "ultra-ugly bra" onto their cars either. Or is that just a really bad bodykit?

Even Chrysler is learning from their foreign, upscale rivals about poor taste in automotive style...consider yourself educated on the subject.

That chrysler looks better with the mask, they should have sold it like that and by the way I got a GT-R black mask, I think it looks cool.. or at least different... kind of unique.

My thoughts exactly! I can appreciate secrecy in design testing, but we all know what it looks like - we have for some time now. I don't see the relevance of including this aside from boosting car count.

Remember GT5 was supposed to come out when PS3 launches, back then, R35 has yet to be revealed and should the game really did came out in 2006, the black mask would have been a killer... I guess that was the original plan for the black mask in the game??

Many companies use black mask in testing stages. Because a lot of car magazines go out and snap what they can of the new models on test track. Why GTR? Probably because a lot of people like gtr and followed its development very close. GTR is huge in Japan and got a lot mroe fan boys all over the world.

If you got the cash to spend why not black mask, chances are no other player will have it, and a lot less of them around than x2010.

I got almost all of the skylines in my garage, including some of the older models and super rare rally model.

Same. I hate those and I almost bought GT-R '07 instead because of that.

Buy Titanium Semi-Racing Exhaust for SpecV. You get a regular round exhaust pipe on each side and it sound a lot better.

I think they are just paying tribute to the development of this car in which PD had some participation. It is really that simple.

GT5 is biased towards GT-Rs in general I think.

Has anyone else come across the R35 GTR Concept car from 2001 ie not the prototype one you can buy in the dealers. It cost me a million cr's but I've yet to see it anywhere else.

I quite like the black mask version, it's something different plus mines painted in chrome orange lol

When Nissan Unveiled the GT-R on the Tokyo Motor show in 2006(?) there was a special version of GT5 with only the GT-R playable.

Before the the unveiling of the GT-R only the black mask version was available in GT5, when the car was unveiled in real life the GT-R gets unveiled digital at the same time. After that the black mask was gone.

And because of that the black mask version is in the game.
