You don't understand that you're trying to compare two completely different vehicles. The G35, again, is the base model Japanese skyline, NOT the GT-R. For some reason you think 'Skyline' means 'GT-R,' and that isn't true.

There are a lot more different kinds of Skylines out there in the world. The most popular tuned car is the GT-R, that's all. GT3 sort of skewed the way most of the people see the Skyline

I don't know..I've heard they're going to use the 350z engine (I don't remember what engine that was V6 or I6..maybe somebody can clarify) and they were going to Twin Turbo it.

yeah they do but they are all part of the GT series or the "sporty version" while the infinity is not, it's the luxury one so no round tail lights....

what models didn't have Round lights? I don't think I've ever seen a Skyline pre-G35 that didn't have round tail lights.

It's just recently that nissan decided to split the skyline and GTR into two seperate cars so before they didn't have this problem...and they had round lights....now only the GTR versions will...

They all had round taillights, but only the GT-R had the big fender flares and funky wings, be it an R32, R33 or R34. For the new generation, the V35 (V because it uses the VG series engine, and not the RB series engine like in the past) has lost all the past clues of the Skyline series, including the round taillights.

Actually quite a few of the pre-R30 models didn't have round tail lights. My guess, and is only a personal opinion is they were modeled after the corvette's. It would make sense since the Vette is considered the "American" icon, and Nissan created the Skyline to be that for Japan. They succeeded also.
