British GT Silverstone 500 (3 Hours race) will be on this weekend and the good news is that it is being shown live on Motors TV for those who can get it.

Much better idea to watch some GT racing rather than a certain Mickey Mouse series on a Mickey Mouse track. :D

Update. That is the European TV start time. In the UK coverage starts at 12:45 so race start 1 PM.

Glorious. I'm hoping that ends up in GT6.

Basically all the work done to the GTE car has gone into this GT3 car according to SRT. The only difference I see is the rear wing.

Here's something to chew on, would a Blancpain round in North America make sense? Or would it be just to much? Or even the formation of some sort of GT3 championship over here?

Grand-Am GT and the Pirelli World Challenge series have detuned GT3 cars competing, so really, you already have what is effectively two GT3 championships in North America.

Quick Question: Have Bentley actually found interested teams wanting to run that car this/next year, or is it pretty much vaporware at this point?

What Ive read was that Bentley plans to run it on track before the end of the year.

in the meantime

There has been a serious crash at the start of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo race supporting the Blancpain Endurance Series at Paul Ricard this morning. 5 cars were involved in the incident with all 5 drivers being taken to the medical centre for assessment where Italian Andrea Mame succumbed to his injuries, there is no news yet on the other drivers.

Edit: Tired Tyres posted whilst I was typing

Another race fatality has occurred.

This is turning into a really tough period for Sports car GT race fans.

R. I. P. Andrea.
Damn another driver gone. I think modern GT cars are safe but against bad luck there's not much you can do. Motorsport is dangerous and will be dangerous no matter the safety measures.

Not a bad race in the end. 👍

It's always nice to see a genuine pass for the lead on track to sort the win out.

The odd lost tyre but in the main proof that Pirelli can actually make tyres that last a stint.

2nd in class for #32 Nissan Academy car, 13th overall.

The #35 car retired after collision damage.

That's the last of the 3 hour races. Next is the Spa 24 hours and then the season closer Nurburgring 1000KM.

Just got to watch the race earlier today, and indeed it was pretty damn good. Was cheering for the #44 and Ramos put in that great middle stint, but unfortunately they were hit with that needless pit procedure penalty. :grumpy:

I was impressed with the HPT #84 SLS, looked really good on their debut in BES. They probably would have won if it wasn't for that problem with the door. Hopefully they'll be at Spa as well. 👍

Sorry for the DP, but here is the 24 hours of Spa entry list.

Looks interesting. In addition to the BES regulars, notably there's a 4th WRT, 3rd Marc VDS, a strong lineup in an extra AF Corse Pro-Am, a Rowe Pro entry, a Manthey Pro entry and a Pro Aston with Turner and Baguette.

Bernd Schneider is in the #84 HTP. They ran strong at Paul Ricard, he should have a decent bid for a 3rd 24 hour race win this year..

Lucas Luhr in a JRM Nissan? That's... interesting.
Does Xavier Maasen have in relation to Sascha Maasen?
That Manthey car's driver line up...
Not many Audi factory drivers there... What happened to Rockenfeller? Is he doing only DTM this year?
