People speed either because they are in a hurry or just want an adrenaline rush.. no way can you relate that to a video game. That's like saying every person who watches NASCAR or Le Mans goes out and speeds.

It's just uttered bull****.

over here in Aus revenue raisers er sorry speed cameras are everywhere really you just cant afford to speed
with time delay cameras(where you go from point a to point B and if you get there b4 an allocated time youre nicked) and the privatier guys as well your chances are pretty good at getting caught

i will still speed where ever i go, i just cant sit on the limit and stay focused on the job at hand
almost crashed at least 3 times due to driving at the limit due to not concentraing
if im going faster however im less likely to crash because im more aware

mind you the sheep factor (people who cant drive) is getting out of hand over here
ive been told that if you can drive here (Ballarat Victoria) you can drive anywhere
...nuff said

Slow down...literally. When the tickets have to get paid for and the insurance premiums catch up with you, you start to slow down, trust me!

I used to speed everywhere (55mph was the old state limit, so I felt that was my safe minimum everywhere), but now I'm more relaxed, rarely do I go more than 3-4mph over the limit except on an open road or interstates/expressways.

Lately, it's more fun pissing off a cop by doing the limit right at the "speed zone" and waving at him! (Ha ha! You can't fool me!)

They don't really pull people over here in Arizona. The speed limit is more of a suggestion. I can count how many times I've seen a car pulled over on one hand, not including the interstate. It's like the cops just don't care. I keep hoping that one day I will see one of these idiots driving like a moron get his just deserts... I will slow down and point and laugh at his cracked up car and yell "serves you right, jerk!" In addition to tickets and insurance, a wrecked car will also slow you down.

We do have a lot of rid light cameras though. So I stop. Every day on my way to work I see those things flash. People just don't get it. Arizona is number one in the country for intersection traffic deaths because apparently red lights are optional.

But I did just hear that in Scottsdale, where I work, they have inplemented a new speeding law. For excessive speeding, 20 mph or more over the limit, which is about one third of divers at any given time, the penalty is $500.00 and jail time. The rationale is that most of Scottsdale is rich and the people aren't deterred by fines alone.

Yowza. I'm staying out of that town. Although 20mph is excessive, I've been known to periodically hit 85 on my 65mph-rated interstate to pass a slow pack of cars. But $500 + jail time? That's excessive, and I hope it's deemed unconstitutional before too long.

It's a knee-jerk reaction to a rash of fatalities on a new stretch of road that opened about a two years ago. Everybody calls that road the "death trap." Not particularly original, but accurate. I must admit that I do avoid it if at all possible. It's totally unpredictable. You can't zone out even for a second. It's hilly and curvy and people go way too fast, usually 80-90 in a 65; the biggest morons go well over a hundred in their Porches and CLKs. I set my cruise at 70 or so and mind my own business.

Whenever we go to my Grandpa's farm(Wisconsin) we have to watch our speed. Those cops there seem to only give tickets to out-of-state people, so be careful when in Wisconsin.

My brother ended up getting a ticket in a 30MPH zone when he was going something like 42, damn those speed traps. Anyway, he paid something more than just the ticket so it doesn't get reported to the insurance agency(He was 16 or 17 at the time) If he gets another ticket within a year of his last, however, both tickets show up to the insurance agency and his insurance will sky-rocket.

This is what i spotted the other day (tuesday):

driving down one of the main streets here spotted a speed camera wasnt sure (and wasnt speeding either:p ) so i turned around came back to make sure
It was a revenue raiser so i stopped and proceeded to write down its number plate, while doing this police car, literally, flies past me with lights ablaze. Nothing wrong with that you may say he could have had an emergency to attend to, but NO right after he go's past the camera and he's safely out of range do the lights go off.
Is this the only place where this happens or is it commonplace all over the world?

Tried to catch him to report him but hey i dont have a siren or flashing lights for when i get to a red light:mad:
...they are a law (they think) unto themselves

Yeah, the cops around here can disobey any traffic law by merely turning on the lights for moment or two.

The Florida Highway Patrol loves to make U-turns (to chase other speeders) when you least expect it...somehow it's legal for them, yet it's extremely dangerous for everyone to come over a rise, and get a FHP suddenly going 10mph right in front of you that wasn't there two seconds previously.

I had a cop try to tell me that sometimes they are going to a crime and don't want to draw attention, some top-secret crap

that is sooo obviously not real. :p

"i cant tell the difference between GT3 and real life" lol

almost real enough but its obviously not written by sombody from the BBC.

still funny though

Nope, don't plan on doing that either. However, I suppose I could if I got Cadillac's new V16 engine:D:trouble:
