GT SPORT Community Event
Friday 20th May 2016 2.00PM-9.00PM (BST)
  • Race cars and full-size and scale model Vision GT cars.
  • Thrill rides in a range of real sport cars.
  • GT SPORT mini competitions.
  • GT SPORT Q&A session with Kazunori Yamauchi.
  • Evening party with PDI and GT community.
Thought I'd make a thread specifically about event with a poll to find out who are attending it.

I'm going to Switzerland for the Europa League Final Wednesday so sadly it's a no go for me as I'm only allowed out the street once a week. :(

Hope you all have a good time though. :gtpflag:

I'm hoping to be able to get to Stratford from around 11am or midday onwards. I've set up a separate thread if anyone is interested in a forum meet up beforehand. :gtpflag:

I would be tempted if I wasn't so far away with crap transport links. Last train is 8:30pm.
The way you were rampaging through the board here, I felt sure you were attending. I wish you were, because that critical eye of yours, and ear, would make for a fascinating critique of the demo. Plus, I wish more people could go who live on that shining isle. Oh well, mayhaps we can get a good gist of it through YouTube. ;)

Nah sounds more like he meant physically attending. I will obviously watch it online though.
I believe this is A press event, So anyone can't just show up, so all who will be attending to participate in:
  • Race cars and full-size and scale model Vision GT cars.
  • Thrill rides in a range of real sport cars.
  • GT SPORT mini competitions.
  • GT SPORT Q&A session with Kazunori Yamauchi.
  • Evening party with PDI and GT community.
will be press. But if he means attending as just as a spectator, then @Saidur_Ali is right in his initial question , but most spectators of the GT community including myself will be attending online.

Looking at the opening post it refers specifically to 20 may which is the second day where members of the public are invited to attend. Press day is 19 may.

The second day isn't for press only, and it made more sense he was talking about that day. :) but of course day one is the one *all* of us will be attending online. :) @Haulin_Hebrew[/QUOTE

Thanx for the info guys, that all makes sense to me.

Missing poll option: I'd be there if I could! Can't afford to go.
I thought best keep it simple and think most people who have enough interest to visit this thread, would go if they could afford to.

That's a problem for me too so might just go by car as last train back is 9.59PM for me. Won't make it back for then unless I leave early. Another 200 mile round trip to play a video game and see some cars in the same month. Queues to play PCARS wasn't that big but still took ages to have a go. Concerned that unless they have a lot of consoles setup, might not even get chance to play the game or lose the will to live waiting. Should have better idea on 19th to estimate how wait times might be.
My travel plans are sorted, so I will be there. Can ... not ... WAIT! Exciting to meet my fellow GTP mods, it will be the biggest meeting of mods so far! Of course I am equally excited to meet any fellow GTP'er :)

As long as I have decent WiFi internet to upload from, I will keep you updated on Twitter: https://twitter.com/GTP_PASM
Are you going to be there on the 19th as well? Will be interesting to read your impressions about game. I guess you will try and win all the mini competitions. Will be fun to play GT again, don't think I've played for over a year now.
Would have definitely been going down if it wasn't for uni exams at the start of June.......... @Jordan any chance of you getting them to postpone by a couple of weeks? I'm sure no one else will mind

Hope everyone going has a ton of fun! :)
Surely if they postponed it by a couple of weeks, it will then be right when your exams start.
It always amazes me when I go to London how many people take tube/bus rides that they could easily do just as quick if not quicker walking.
What I got amazed by most in recent London trips is how poor mobile phone signal is. Amazing to be in inner London indoors and struggling to get any data signal right next to a window.

The Copper Box Arena Corporate Events venue hire specs lists that it has 'Free Wifi 100mbps inbound and 100mbps outbound' so there should be no need to worry about signals or data usage here. 👍

Only the 20th. Still, should be fun to compare some times when we get to play and exchange impressions.

I will be watching the livestreams on the 19th of course.
