Hi all,
share the reviews you find across the internet so we can see and read them all in the same place.

I'll start:

GAMESRADAR

I was kind of respecting the review until the guy said that Forza 7 is superior in pretty much every area you could choose. Sure... And there it goes the credibility. Might be better on some things but I'm sure it's not on all of them. That's just stupid for anyone with half a brain.

EUROGAMER: Review

Cheers

Alright, 3 pretty positive reviews so far! This is promising.

”...Forza 7 is superior in pretty much every area you could choose.”

Yeah, this quote sorta confused me too. I mean, don’t get me wrong, Forza 7 is a great game, but to say that every aspect of it is better than the competition? I don’t know about that.

Especially when earlier in the review he alluded to the physics being more realistic than Forza 7... :p

GamesRadar reviews have never been very good though, IMO. On par with IGN, if not worse.

Lots of positive reviews popping up. The only really negative stuff I've read is from Gamespot who didn't understand why Tag Heur where heavily featured and thought the music and presentation was pretentious. Need more dude bro Kaz!

Getting good reviews oh but is it really a surprise after the demo?

I can't think of a demo who had has such a positive impact on a game when before that everyone was doubtful and ready to slaughter it.

Demo just sealed it for everyone. Mad props to PD and Sony for such a gutsy move and including lot of content in the demo.

Quality always shines. PD has nailed the driving and presentation.

Bit worrying if this was the case for most of the reviewers. Haven't seen it mentioned by others however. Time will tell how much of an issue this server maintenance will become. Could be very frustrating.

Might be the case of the early review copy that were given a day or two before launch and the server was like active for about 7 hours and then it was shut. Not sure about server connectivity from now on though, let's see how things goes.

Imagine doing an endurance race and the internet dropping out near the end? People's heads are gonna fall off.
Might be good to wait with the endurance races until a couple of days/weeks after release, just because that period will be the most likely one for server problems.

You reckon? I've seen it go both ways.

Some people simply wanted confirmation that it was what they thought it was to buy it.
Some people simply wanted confirmation that it was what they thought it was not to buy it.

It's a pretty niche game that depending on your tastes may not be the best thing on the market. It has great graphics and that Gran Turismo style, but I think a lot of people are pretty underwhelmed with what $60 buys you. Problems with always-online and missing features notwithstanding, one could hope that they'll be cleared up in the first few weeks.

I stopped the preorder after driving a FWD street car in the demo. There is no simulation of the longitudinal dynamics. This causes unrealistic spinouts on the throttle even on very high speeds.

I actually love how the game feels it feels almost like driving a real car unlike pcars 2 the wheel be all over the place in pcars 2 you never feel like you have complete control of your car in GTS it's completely different the game feels good

Really? You realise your ability to have complete control of the car in GTS is not what makes one game more realistic over the other. From my experience GTS is nowhere close to driving the real thing. Especially the cars turning from the center is very noticeable, which car in real life has the central axis point in the center of the car?

VBR
Looks like I'm in the minority, once again, as I gave the demo a 1 star rating on PSN.
Same, except I didn't bother rating it. The feeling was all too similar to GT6 for me.

Take the menus, livery editor, scapes away, replace the graphics with standard graphics. What are you left with? Nothing to distract the casual player from the mediocrity that is GTS. It's like those crap Hollywood CGI blockbusters like Transformers, they're their to deflect from the lack of substance and dept.

Others may feel different of course, but I challenge them imagine GTS with with Assetto Corsa's graphics and menus + presentation, would the game hold on it's own?

I'd rather assess the game on what it is.

Like Martin Robinson of Eurogamer says (one of the few credible reviewers of the driving genre in the mainstream gaming press) it's the most focused, high quality Gran Turismo title since GT3. An outstanding physics engine that compares favourably with Assetto Corsa, an online suit that takes the best from iRacing, and packages it up for a console audience. When you factor in the presentation, photomode and general level of polish, it's no surprise to see GT Sport being praised by those in the know.

Then again, it's all about opinions. For every Martin Robinson there's a Peter Brown at Gamespot, who seem perplexed at the very idea of simulation racing, or why brands like Tag Heuer are even featured. Each to their own.

The menues, the scapes, livery editor, hundred something training exercises, the brand central suite and the graphics - you're not the first to try and minimize these things as if everyone is doing it, and what they've done is some run-of-the-mill accomplishment. These are things that make GTS unique in the market, and that a lot of people look forward to, so why should we attempt to 'imagine' it without it. That's like asking someone to imagine PC2 without the 60 track roster/Livetrack 3.0, or FM7 without the 700 cars and Vista mode.

Why would you take away what is arguably GT's biggest and best feature(s)? It's a game, you rate the game entirely or else it's not an actual rating but a picking and choosing.

Gameplay- 4-5
Graphics- 5-5
Physics- 3.5-5
Features- 4-5
Replayability- 4-5

I'd say a 4 or 4.5/5 overall for me but I'm not a "journalist", so maybe my post will be removed. The game is familiar to GT6, but the handling model is definitely different. I just played GT6 to compare and there's definitely more 'feel' and weight to the cars. Even with the bogus oversteer issue, I can tell more what my car is doing, even on a ds4. Cars are easy to drive. I've not tracked expensive high power one's, but been along for plenty of 'joy-rides' and they're not some maniacal, hard to control beasts. Maybe something with 600-1000hp and rwd would be without traction and stability control. I'm pretty excited about the future of this game.
