I was looking at some old pics and I found the good old GT Universe pic with all of the new modes of GT4 on it . Does anyone what the 2nd icon from the left on the last row is? Tried searching for the reference but couldn't find it..

This screen shot has been posted already, but I am attaching it anyway. This is a pic that I have not seen yet showing a little of GT mode. I did not see much discussion on it so I am including me thoughts. Notice the coffee mug on the car selection screen? Is that (I hope) for a test drive? I wonder what Nissan Blue and Red stage means, or is that just part of the tuning section? I hope that you don't have to bring a certain car make to the maker to tune it like in GT2. That was a pain and GT3 did a much better job with one central tuning location. And what about the top left Car Dealers image? It shows the (I think) current car then it says 11/08? That spot before was reserved for a day count. Is that a day and month? Admitted that this was presented in Japanese and may translate different to Engrish. Thoughts?

I just wanted to know that one specificly (bad monitor). I wanted to close or delete the thread after I got my answer, but i'm not a mod :trouble:

Nisasn blue stage and red stage two different types of Nissan dealers in Japan, so I think each of thoes will have different types of cars in the showrooms. As for the coffee mug, it looks like it would be for a test drive, but theres a coffee mug on the main manufacturer screen as well. Also notice, each manufacturer has a GT auto icon, GT auto is not the tune shop so maybe each manufacturers GT auto has something special for their own cars.

Since we're basicly on this topic, the safety driving park, crash tests? Damage then? Will it just calculate the Gs of impact? Does anyone know :p :D
 
Theres no crash test mode there, what the saftey driving park is for is open to debate, but we'll have to wait and see on that one.
 
Alright, but why no crash mode? I can't imagine what else it could be, maybe "don't hit the cones and/or children" :lol:
 
It could be the Gymkhana, or it could be an extra test based soley on racing as safe as possible.

Do you reckon blue stage is for road cars and red stage is for racing cars?

Because in GT2 the 'road only' selection for a manufacturer race was blue and the 'racing modified only' selection was red on the selection screen. Do you reckon that's what it is??

I assume that means Racing modifications are in, along with tonnes of manufacturer tournaments!! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

No, in real life Nissan has blue sage dealers and red stage dealers if it was for road and race models why is the Peugot screen different, notice the icon there is the peugeot badge, like the two Nissan showrooms are both Nissan blue and red stage badges like the ones in real life. The race mods should be back according to KY but only for a few selected cars.
 
but do blue and red stage dealers sell different models?
I couldnt find any conclusive evidence of this.

could the safety driving park be like the skid pan featured in the dvd?
 
I think one sells sports models and the other not so sports models. I'd better let someone from Japan explain the difference.

The car itself shown is one that has a soft top version...

Maybe the square removes the roof?

Right OK, i didn't notice that. it seems a bit of a bizarre idea, though...

How about, the square is for purchase car and the circle is to go back to the rpeviouse screen.
 
Perhaps it's not actually a coffee mug but just a swirly back arrow or something? I can't recall a pic of the icon in question.

I really don't have any idea what those icons are or what they do, but I sure as hell can't wait to pop GT4 into my ps2 and find out!
 
those icons are obviously coffee cups. i guess they hint at the coming of the coffee breaks the were a feat in gt4p´s school mode. i could live without them cause they were really annoying to me.
 
maybe the red dot is to buy and the coffee cup is to test before you buy
