Hello, Tez_SP17 here. I decided to condense some stuff down, since I noticed a lot of other places were a bit more.... concise.
Welcome to the GTPlanet GT World Series on Gran Turismo 5. This is a one-class series that features sports cars from manufactures such as Audi, Ferrari and McLaren, who will compete in a number of races around many of the world tracks covered in GT5. This series drew inspiration from watching the FIA GT1 World Championship, since the initial car line-up will be very similar. However, since certain elements (the absence of a Qualifying Race) will not be included, and there will be certain ideas tested to attempt to pique interest that aren’t in the GT1 series, I have decided to give the series a different name. Thus, it is called the GT World Series.

Times:
Weekdays
10pm GMT start for both qualifying and races
11pm GMT Qualifying finish.
11:30pm GMT Race finish.
There will be an option for Sunday races.
Testing Procedures:
Testing is pretty simple; cars are given specs to run, and are tried an tested on various tracks until a balance is struck.
Criteria that must be kept in mind while testing are: fastest lap time, tyre wear, fuel consumption, drivability, cornering and speed. Feedback is necessary.
Once testing is over, and a balance is struck with all the cars, teams can then choose a car and go away to work on the car within the specs given. Preseason will commence thereafter to make final checks on the cars, and make any last-minute spec changes based on proceedings.
Qualifying Procedures:
Qualifying and Race days will be separate in this series.
Qualifying will generally commence at the start of the week, and will generally last between 45 minutes to an hour.
Points will be awarded in qualifying, and the amount will depend on your position.
Race Procedures:
Races will be anything between 60 and 90 minutes long, while race distances will vary a lot depending on lap times and track lengths. As expected, you will be awarded points for finishing the race, and will differ depending on your final position.
The race involves a formation lap followed by the race itself. During the formation lap, cars must travel in single file at 75 mph (or ~120 km/h) up to the last corner of the track, which is when they will move to double file for the rolling start.
Caution Procedures:
I am considering using heavy damage for this series, so that people are conditioned to drive more safely that they ordinarily would under light damage, so as to not end up jeopardizing their own race as much as someone else’s race.
If a racing incident is caused, the person/people involved must instantly stop, pause their car into “ghost” mode and give a simple indication of a caution by typing “!!” in the lobby chat. All cars will slow to 60 mph (~ 100km/h) until the incident is settled.
Pitting is allowed under caution, but places lost/gained in doing so should not be given back.
Ideas for the Series:
Multi-stage qualifying: Having three short sessions of qualifying where a number of drivers are eliminated from the next qualifying round/stage. In conjunction with this, each round will have its own restriction on what tyre is used. The initial idea was drawn from F1, but the tyre restriction is my own little twist.
Prime & Option Tyres: Having a prime and option tyre rule for races to promote an air of strategy. With this rule, there will be a set number of times the Option tyre should be used in the race, whereas the Prime can be used as many as needed. I am leaning towards using Racing Hard (RH) tyres as prime, with the much faster Racing Soft (RS) as the typical option tyre. Racing Medium (RM) tyres will probably be used on long tracks such as Sarthe.
