I was thinking of doing a Lap time compotion on this post. I don't know if any of you are intrested but its limited rules are:

> All cars entering must have under "295hp" (Home hp Reading) :yuck:
> Any modifications allowed aslong as they do not exceed the horsies limit. :)
> FR or MR Drive type only. 👍
> Mid-Field Race way. :sly:
> Fastest times for 1 lap,You must start on the grid (stationary with count of 3). :ouch:
> List parts but not settings, If you want to keep them secret. :dopey:
> No Credits budget. :P
> Traction control system and Anti spin mechanism is not allowed :scared:

Let me know if ur intrested ill be doing it. Good luck. 👍

Have a good time posting this, If you want you can use the mid-feild challenge 2 on japanese league. But no car leaning is allowed. :dunce:

Stock car times :

Skyline GT-R V-spec(R34) - 1:29.684 < But its 4wd so u can't use it :S
Mazda RX-7 Type RS '98 - 1:27.807

No one seems to be intrested really are they? o well....

Other reason we can't use R34 because it have 323hp...........
My current time lap
Mazda RX-7 GT-Turbo '83 - 1.22.865
Skyline GTS25 Type S R32 - 1.23.667
Pulsar Serie VZR N1 '97 - 1.23.974

I thought so. I love the Datsun 240Z. Champion rally car. Can you upgrade it fully (body mod) too. I want to see what it's like. :)

The 240 makes a GREAT rally car even though it is rear-drive. Yes you can race-mod it...looks kinda ridiculous once you do. I did a bunch of rallycross races, including the Pike[s Peak downhill and the first Tahiti Maze. The back is so tame...I remember having a hard time getting it to slide out and drift much, even in hairpin corners. I had to take my rear camber way out past 4 to 5° along with some other tricks before I could get my 240Z to drift in dirt. I suspect the 1971 Skyline will tell pretty much the same story.

This is good fun RouteUk!👍 I saw the original thread last night and had to leave before reading the entire set of rules. I got a rolling start 1:19, and used a TCS.:guilty: I will be back with legal times and specs next week.

The Spoon Civic is a killer here, I`ve done 1.14`s

Spoon Civic is also FF and therefore not allowed in this comp. correct? I was thinking Spoon Civic too until I looked at it last night and remembered that it was FF.

The 240Z dominated rally. It was so sexy, a muscle car look a like that had superb handling in it's day. It started the whole Z movement. Truly one of the GREATEST EVER Japanese cars made.

Honda NSX
Nissan Z

Other than that Japan has few true sports cars.

Technically, the NSX is a true sports car but the 240 is not. The 240Z is a 2+2 fastback coupe. It has 4 seats in other words. A ‘true’ sports car only has 2 because it is meant for performance with an almost complete lack of practicality.

But by your definition, the game is still packed with Japanese sports cars...RX-7s, GTO/3000GTs, the Honda S2000, 300zx, 7th gen Celicas, Supras, 2-door Skylines...

I say go ahead and run the Spoon Civic...the results will be interesting; they just won't be official. I'm curious to see what it can do.

I thought the 240Z was a coupe. Yeah I guess only 2 seaters are sports car but the look and the feel of the car. Plus the fact that it could rally. It was aggressive. I wouldn't call the 3000GT a sports car, too heavy to be one as well as he fact it's 4WD. An RX-7 uses a rotary engine and is produced by Mazda thus I don't rate that highly. Celica GT-4 is a great car (not as a sports car but more as a concept from Rally to Road). The S2000 is probably the best Japanese convertable we will ever see for the next 20 years. 300ZX is a part of the Z club which I rate with the 240Z. Not a fan of the Supra, and the Skyline is generally quite heavy.

In short I love the following sports cars
Honda NSX
Honda S2000
Nissan 300ZX

In short I love the following classic car
Datsun 240Z
Ford Escort

In short I love the following economical cars
Ford Focus
Honda Civic

In short I love the following rally-road cars
Toyota Celica GT-Four
Ford Escort RS

In short I love the following luxury cars
E classe Mercedes

In short you guys rule, peace out and respect my love for those cars listed.

These are some nice times!👍 I'm getting 1:22's with three different cars but, I will have to try some of these cars. I am especially impressed with the RX-7 GT-Turbo. I had no idea you could get it's weight down that far. Still, I have cars that are comparable to these and I feel that they should compete with yours. I am using the ZZ-III, Nismo 270r, Motorsport Elise, and the Miata, B-Spec. I use a 1.5 limited slip. Is that enough of a difference to put me back 2-3 seconds? I really don't know much about calibrating Limited Slip.

---I thought the 240Z was a coupe.

The 240 Z is a coupe. Coupe = 2 doors but 4 seats according to the dictionary. Sports CAr is more loosely defined as any car produced mostly with performance in mind, which could be anything...but to me it includes only the 2 seat roadsters, targas, and the like.

I'd post a list of my fave cars in different categories like you did liam, but I'd be here till 4 in the morning trying to make all those decisions!

Yeah! Show me the times! I love to see how I stack up. I will post my official times for the Midfield challenge shortly. I have only done about 10 preliminary laps since I tuned my cars.

I have lap times for these cars.

Mazda MX-5 Miata '93
TVR Chimaera 4.0
Nissan Silvia Q's 2000cc '91

And i will get one for the Lotus Elise 190

I will post the times in a day or so.

Off topic:
To add to what PB said, The original 240Z was indeed a two-seater.
I had the opportunity to drive one in my youth, and was stuck in it for quite a while as I couldn't find the door handle on the inner panel:lol:
(It's in the very bottom corner aft of the seat. So it isn't visible on the passenger door panel from the driver's seat).
I finally extricated myself from the car by using the outside handle to open the door. Considering my size, it was no mean trick!
I may be wrong, but I believe that the 2+2 cars were identified in the script on the rear valence. They also had a longer more awkward looking roofline.

OnTopic:
Could we use any car with the HP modded up to what a 295HP race would allow?
Yea or Nay is cool. If I ever get a free second, I may pull my S2k out for this. Though I also have one or two other ideas for this.
You want a "standing start" rather than a flying lap? (just to clarify).

Yes,a standing start is what RuoteUK wanted.

Yes for any MR and FR car. And yes for standing start (Race start).

How do you take pictures from GT2?
I am using emulator to play GT2, so its a simple printscreen

295hp fully tuned Corvette stingray '82 (1:21.670), 293hp fullly tuned Mustang GT '99 (1:23:729). Slow, I know :( .

sucahyo
More time :) ,
Fully tuned ZZ-III time 1:20.843
286hp Motorsport Elise time 1:19.972

Nice times Sucahyo! 👍 Just curious, did you get the idea:idea: to race these two cars from my earlier thread? I thought these two cars had the most potential of about any I had experience with. Cool, I will have to see if I can improve my settings and compete with your times.

Another beauty of a car that I was thinking:idea: of modding for this challenge. I want to win this challenge with the 82 Stingray!:sly: Hahaha!
