I feel the mist compliments the layout. While also allowing the shot to have a bit of balance, instead of letting the contrast overtake such a shot. Aside from those thoughts there is one other thing I like. That being the mild colours gives the shot a calm look. Sure a higher saturation would make the sky more dynamic. But in the end, the shot doesn't need a colourful sky.
