I have dusted off my PS2 and have really been enjoying playing GT4 spec II mod with my dualsense controller via a blueretro adapter. I also have GT3 on disc, but I cannot currently use the same control setup with R2/L2 for accelerator/brake because of the on/off nature of triggers in GT3. I am aware of Silents adjusted trigger sensitivity 'cheat', but I cannot use it as per the instructions because I am using original PS2 hardware. This 'cheat' seems to somehow have been incorporated into GT4 spec mod II by @TheAdmiester.

I guess this is a long winded way of asking - is anyone able to provide me with guidance on how I can implement this with GT3? Going back to buttons for accelerator/brake will now seem like such a downgrade after having the control of the dualsense triggers. My GT3 is version NTSC-U v1.0.

Thank you.

Cheats like that can be used on console via cheat discs like Action Replay, Gameshark, or Codebreaker. Each one generally has its own encryption / obfuscation applied to the codes rather than using the raw code like an emulator, but there are oldschool tools to convert a code to work on a specific type of cheat disc. There may also be homebrew cheat discs out there if your console is modified, I'm not sure.

GT4 Spec II has the trigger sensitivity change built in by making the required code change directly to the files on the disc, rather than using cheat codes to overwrite that bit of code after it's loaded into memory. It's a difficult and complicated mod to do, but meant that it could be done conditionally so that it only applies when the triggers are used for the accelerator and/or brakes.
