They've been around for awhile but I never got the answer to my answer to my question straight.

Do the GT3 cars in Super GT have the exact same specs as the GT3 cars in main GT3 competition or do they have the same specs as the other GT300 cars?

This question now also applies in the USCC GT-D class as GT3 cars are now allowed in it.

SuperGT GT3 entries run different specs than the FIA GT3 class, I don't know anything about GTD.
Specs I saw differed in restrictor size and ballast, but are quite similar.

Here my references:
FIA GT3: http://www.fia.com/sites/default/files/basicpage/file/2012-12-19 2013 FIA BoP for 2012 GT3 Specification.pdf
SGT GT3: http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=49682 (Japanese, but numbers are numbers)
GTD: http://www.imsa.com/sites/default/files/uploads/Comp. Bulletin #14-26.pdf
ADAC GT-Masters:http://www.adac-gt-masters.de/docs/adac-gt-masters/static/100/Bulletin 03_2013.pdf (lots of american goodies in there)

Edit: found GTD, but they don't have a full GT3 lineup BoP'ed
Edit2: ADAC GT-Masters (German GT3 national series) added

It's only a matter of time when the ACO drops their GT2-based regulations and adopts the GT3 regs.

In less than 10 years, GT3 has gone from the 3rd rung on the ladder of GT racing to the de facto GT class worldwide.

In fact that is soon. GT3 cars are joining GTE cars at la Sarthe from 2015.

I'm under the impression that future GT-E cars will be GT3 cars only with ACO approved spec kits to make them legal?

Didn't Krohn buy a GT3 458 for Le Mans last year and convert it overnight?

Wrong.
Manufactures don't want GT3 at Le Mans. Why? Look at Bentley. They spent cubic dollars on a car which shares very few features with the road car. GT3 has no technical regs, you just build a car and they BoP it. GT3 at Le Mans would lead to skyrocketing budgets.

GT and GT+ will be a totally new concept in 2016.

Do you have your ear to the ground @hawkeye122 to know what's going to happen in 2015? I recall and I'll take the time later to confirm. With the FIA starting to become a governing body for motor sports world wild on a large it was decided to cut or remove some racing classes or merge them together. This was done to cut coast for teams along with cutting the classes in half.

Japan says hi (GT500 is the de facto over there).

2015 will have the same classes (with the same basic tech regulations) as 2014. Current LMP2 rules will be in place until after 2016 (at least), LMP1 will be in the second year of it's new rules and new GT regs won't come in until 2016 at the earliest. LMP3 will debut in ELMS and ALMS, but almost assuredly will not be at/in LM or WEC.

GT500 aren't GTs by most definitions. They are/were in reality more like closed prototypes with shapes similar to production cars.

The GT3 cars racing in GT300 are basically the same as euro spec GT3, only minor tweaks needed. GTD on the hand, requires some fiddli'n. Other aero, no abs, no tcs, other weight.

I fought GT3 cars in GT300 are much more aerodynamic and have less bhp.

They are not. GT3 cars in GT300 are much faster than any other GT3 cars.

In fact they, and the GT300 cars, are faster than the GTE cars in both the GTE-Pro and GTE-Am cars in the WEC. GTE cars are faster than GT3 cars everywhere else.

Check the Practice, Qualifying and Race times from the Fuji rounds.

The GT3's in GT300 are the same models used for FIA spec racing. They use different ballast, restrictors and most importantly stickier tyres.

We're both half right, looks like a transition period is due.

This is what I meant. And GTD does the same, but in the opposite direction. Spec tires, and spec rear wing.
And best race lap Fuji, Aston Martin V8 Vantage: 1:38.768, best race lap Fuji, Nissan GT-R GT3: 1:39.619. Not even a second diff, and GT3 slower than GTE.
Compare with Spa: Ferrari 458 GTE: 2:19.106, Mercedes SLS GT3: 2:21.861. Given different tracklengths, the difference between GT3 in BES and GT300 is very small.
I only have qually times from this years Daytona 24 to compare GTD, and Daytona is not really representative, but going by it anyway, best GTE, SRT Viper GTS-R: 1:44.506, and best GTD, Audi R8 LMS: 1:46.873.
I suck at maths, so if someone could calculate percentages...

Edit: found some help on da internetz; Fuji 0,86%, Spa 1,98%, Daytona 2,26% are the speed differences between GTE vs. GT3/GTD (2013/14).

I don't know the facts but, my aunt is married to the engine tuner for a FIA GT3 spec Z4 running in Japans Super Taikyu series. He told me that the differences from the FIA GT3 Spec and GT300 spec Z4's include things like; Air intake restricting, ballast adjustment, bigger and wider wheels, as well as a the softer compound tires that are used in Super GT. The aero packages are apparently identical. Which would explain why the Z4 in GT300 struggles in the corners but gains on the straights in comparison to the Super GT designed vehicles.

Which is the exact opposite of the GTE car...
