i'm with ving. its very accurate. btw ving, check out the post about best lights, i tell u what i was doing to my sig:)

Nice!

Granted, I'm big on graphics, so I can give you a long rambling post about the graphics, antialiasing, etc., but I assume you already know those need fixing...? ;)

The information though is right on. 👍

Sure. I'll put that on my todo list. But how do you apply antialiasing to captured graphics in Photoshop (And the other things you would like to see fixed)? I search for tutorials on google and they all want me to buy their books. Be my guest about rambling. I'm listening...

Actually, I don't have Photoshop, so I wouldn't really know the specifics of that. :( I have Fireworks MX, which is specifically geared to making web graphics anyway, so it's perfect! :D

Actually, now that I just re-read what you typed, I just realized that they're captured graphics. For the buttons, I suggest that you make them from scratch... they'll look much nicer, and it's not hard to do either. :) (Well, that said, it's a lot easier to do in Fireworks than Photoshop, but still, it's not that hard) As for things like the GT3 logo, I'd suggest that you find the largest graphic that you can, and just re-size it.

I'd give you more specific advice, but right now, it looks like your server is down...? I can't load the page.

I've actually been working on something similar ... mine isn't nearly as far along as yours - I've been working on the graphics/interface, and don't have much of the data in yet.

Take a look-see, if you like:
Gran Turismo Car Guide

A question: What format is your data in? Is it in a database? XML? Would you entertain the idea of sharing your data?

Sage,
Yeah, had a minor hiccup with the server. It should be back now. The logo's are definitely getting reworked though.

Luxy,
Right now, I only had 130ish cars out of 182 in the db right now. It's a Microsoft Access database right now. I will switch to SQL server once it's done. I can help you by providing you with the data in any format you specify. But I will keep the database structure and the codes to myself. Don't worry as I'm proficient with just about any database format you can imagine, including MySQL. All I ask in return is credit me on your site. BTW, I like what you have so far.

Oh yeah, which cars besides the F-1s deserve to be animated, do you think?
kideng

To do list:
Fix submit buttons, logos, etc.
Rework the list sort interface.
50 or so cars to go.
Animate any additional car pics as warranted.
Write brief description of how the stats are taken.
Flash intro for the hell of it?

GT4 version of the db when the game comes out.

Please let me know of any suggestions, corrections, wishlists, etc.

The Viper GTSR wouldn't go amiss either ;)

Wow, that list is really cool!

Rework the list sort interface on events.
Rework the list sort interface on car list.

To do:
2 cars to go.
Write brief description of how the stats are taken.
Printer friendly pages.
Flash intro.
Add settings section for cars?
Add times for tracks?

Animation:
MR-S AutoBacs
Toyota GT-One Road
Toyota GT-One Race

Anymore suggestions?

Wow...that's a good idea ving...good for comparation to choose for a series race or something...

Kideng...thats a great database, you've spent a lot of time researching and compling it...i wish i had your patience...

what would be great...as a suggestion...if you could add a section for each car showing an ideal all round setup for the suspension, brakes, gearing etc....nothing specific, just for good general handling...

i suspect you may have to ask people to submit thier setting for this coz its a hell of a lot of work...

great work..

TS

Actually, that IS in the works. As a matter of fact, I am going to create a settings section as well as a track times section. Times submitted with a sharkport replay file will be listed as certified. And it will also be possible for a time to be linked to the settings used if the submitter so chooses.
kideng

And yes, I'm going to work on your idea too, ving.

Added the ability to sort by the ratios. The ratios are also listed in car detail now as calculated by data in the database. The numbers vary slightly from those listed in the game because the game rounds differently apparently.

My current to do list:
Credits page
Write brief description of how the stats are taken
Printer friendly pages
Opponent car listings
Bracketed searches
Flash intro
Registration and Login (For times and settings submissions)
Add settings section for cars
Add times for tracks
Animate:
MR-S AutoBacs
Toyota GT-One Road
Toyota GT-One Race

Also, just going to
http://www.kidengineer.com/gt3db/cardetail.cfm
http://www.kidengineer.com/gt3db/carcompare.cfm
without any parameters will give you random cars. Fun for browsing.

That's awesome! Very Functional indeed! Looking forward to further additions and completions to your "To Do" list. ;)
