GT3 freezes on load screen.

I was using xport and when I started the game the load bar reaches half way and freezes.. Please help. Thanks

I was going to say that your disc is scratched, but if you've been using the Xport, I do believe you've knackered your garage.

When I put my xport cd in my ps2 I have to keep restarting the ps2 because it wont read the disk..Any solution for this? It is NTSC

Yes - but give me a minute to clean my hotmail account up a bit. It gets jammed with porn, Human Growth Hormone, offers to increase the length of my (John Thomas), or the size of my (Hooters) and pyramid scams...

Your lens is dirty - either buy a DVD cleaner, or take it apart and clean it yourself with a cottonbud and some vodka.

Okay. The file is corrupted - it looks like you've tried to reorder the garage in mk's by dragging & dropping cars at some point - this screws up the car number at the bottom. If you haven't, I suspect it may be an error during data transfer - either a lead has become unplugged, or that thing with the PS2 not reading the Xport disc may be to blame.

Look at the last few cars in your garage file...

I hope you have a backed-up saved game file to work on again.

i dont have an export...so kick my arse if you want but dosent the Sony warrany say that only official playstation parts are guarenteed to work with your playstation?

Yep - that it does.

But the failure to read blue-bottomed discs is a good warning of dirty lenses - and a reminder that if you don't clean it, you've killed it....

Happily my extra warranty covers "failure due to repeated jumping on, urination on, then throwing out of a window". And I've got another 13 months left on it

Actually there is a guy 2 grades below me that does that. About a week before the warenty expires he drops his PS2 out the window and hit it with a sledgehammer then brings it back and says he tripped and fell on it. New ps2...

Damn. I should've done that to my PS2...I think it only had a 1 year warranty. Oh well, the new PS2s are apparently able to play all kinds of DVD discs and stuff. So when my laser expires I might be happy.

really...and thats covered under manufacturing defects?....i thought thats all the warranty covers....

Same thing happened to my PS1 (non-genuine) memory card. I was playing a race on GT2 and paused it for like half an hour and after that, the game worked fine but every time you'd load from the memory card, it would freeze! Lucky I finished GT2 and was getting bored of it. I just put it down to some sorta whacky virus developing in it. Now I'm scared to have it near my new PS2 Memory card

Hope that never gets infected.....
But can a virus develop on memory cards...because the game (GT2) worked fine without the memory card...

But what they DON'T tell you is that they've removed the iLink capability from the new PS2 - so if you want to get involved in an iLink with some mates, don't bother.

Okay, so GT4 will be online - but by the time the PS2 expires, more than 75% of the games released for it won't have an online component...

My warranty was an extra 3y one from the shop. It covers ANY damage at all, even if intentional.

Ummm... huh?

The 1st gen PS2 supports iLink.
The 2nd gen PS2 does not support iLink.
Both support the Network Adapter for online play.

If you've already bought it, it's not a 2nd gen one...

Plus the 2nd gen has no iLink port at the front (dead giveaway) and an infra-red receiver built-in.
