as i mentioned already "to grab the file you must cut-and-paste the following URL into the address bar of your user agent"

Still a 404. See those 3 wee dots in the url? They shouldn't be there. We need the full address in order to cut'n'paste.

Right-click-save-as does work, I got it that way.

I hate to break this to you, but that's NOT anamorphic widescreen. Take a look at the cars.. they're now very VERY "flat" because you compressed the image down to squeeze it into widescreen. Or if it is anamorphic, you didn't convert it properly.

hmm ... apparently these forums mangle URLs; odd.

so, yes, the cut'n'paste won't work. you can always 'save target as' or 'copy link location'.

sorry, i used term anamorphic incorrectly here.

on the DVD-ROM, the intro is in .pss format. i demultiplexed the file into its video and audio components. the m2v is 640 x 448 but there's two copies of the same squashed image so effectively its 640 x 224 which yields an aspect ratio of 2.85. this is where i mangled the usage of anamorphic.

yes, the image is compressed so i figured i rescale the vertical abit. i'll probably do another pass and resample the video to 1.33 or something. the problem is, this upsample will probably degrade image quality even with bicubic resampling.

anyone have any suggestions in preserving quality and yet yield a 'normal' aspect ratio?

p.s.

has anyone re-encoded the North American intro in high-resolution? i couldn't find it here on gtplanet.net and some google searches only yields low-res versions. thanks.

wait.. the intros are different? i alwasy thought everyone else had the same intro as us americans.. could somebody post the PAL intro :dunce:
