I had an e-thug moment in the room as soon as you left. :lol:

This guy comes in and his greeting is "I wonder if he'll even race me". :rolleyes: So this douche comes out basically saying we cant race because we have a HP, weight and tire restriction. Says that I'm scared to race him in a lighter car with racing softs.

So I'm like the F are you talking about. These are specs for a league we have. Go get your car, bring it to specs and meet me on the track. He telling me Im to scared to change specs. I told him if hes so damn confident he would go get his car, tune it and we'll see. He says he'll go get his car and we'll see.

So I'm waiting for on the track and he enters. This guy brings out his SP1! So I'm like, the F dude! Your not even bringing the same car onto the track. Obviously you cant read. Room says Ruf only. Just GTFO. He then complains that this is the only thing he has at this weight. I tell him how bout I leave so you can make up your own specs that meet your specific needs so you can "dominate" and claim that your king. Then I left.

Prolly not interesting to you guys, but I usually dont act all big on the internet. I thought this time it was pretty funny.

I think it was an ALMS race, season 2 at Monza, a guy joined and was like "Change the limits!"

No idea. There's no point arguing with idiots like that. Why I hate random rooms. He just didn't wan to to screw up his precious "tune." I tried to explain that I literally STOLE the numbers from the ALMS official page on the GT3 911 class, but he wouldn't listen. He just wanted to do whatever he wanted. My favorite part was that he called me a "kid." You have a kid, and I'm old enough to have one myself. Moron.

It may be, so stay tuned! Do you have a suggestions on when to hold this? Anyone? Like the OP says, it's up for change, right now we're just testing and practicing.

I was going to allow mediums, but I like the hards. It takes it to a new level of sim, because you have to take it a little easier. I also want to keep full damage for the actual races. It adds an incentive to stay clean and more pit stops. Like, in GT5 side-contact can cause wheel damage. IRL, it can easily cause a blowout. Similar damage in that way. In long races there's always a chance to come back.
 
I can only do after 9pm EST during the week, pretty much any time during the weekend at the moment.
 
I'd join if it weren't so early.
If it were AFTER the ALMS races however...
Saturday evening would probably work for me.

I like the sound of this series, but I'd probably be better as a reserve as I don't think I'll be able to commit to the full series. I'll keep my eyes on the thread and see where it goes.

Sunday night, about 9-10 est would probably work for me ;)

Haha I don't know. It isn't that hard not to get into incidents if you take it easy, and having racing hards really makes being careful necessary.

I think it's a part of strategy akin to real life racing that gets taken away when it's turned off. Like, in iRacing you feel like crap if you wreck in turn one. You ruined two races in a few seconds. Thus everyone is generally hyper aware, and it actually gave me butterflies as if I was really accountable for myself and others in a race.

And then there are people like that venom person, who this clearly steers away :)

Okay I'll add you. I'm leaning toward Sunday night, because it might suck to have races each of the two main weekend nights.
 
True but I'm kind of pulling away from that, as the track list differs a bit from ALMS. I was kind of hoping to make it its own cup series.
 
Sunday doesn't work very well for me as I have confirmation class until 8 and my bed time is at 11.
They'd need to be short races.

Have you ever considered doing heat races?

I think I'll hop on with Brumos. ;)
 
We could do it Sunday at 9 and they'd only last 30-45 min not including qualifying. So like an hour total, and no latecomers (meaning we'd have the race automatic start and everything very tidy and quick).
 
I'd prefer Saturday, but Sundays would work for me also. Just have to time it right so when FIA is done I jump right over to RUF RGT series.

Cool! Sunday seems like it isn't ideal but will get the most people if the races go according to schedule, which I will make sure they will. So Sunday it is for now.
 
Any luck recruiting that one dude that showed up in the room the other night? I was thinking that online lobbies would be a good tool to use to find some good drivers if we fall a little short.

Well, he did accept my friend request. I just have to get him to join GTP. As for recruiting, it took like a ton of kicking idiots to find that one good driver. I'll let him know he's welcome, though.

Plenty! I don't know that we're doing actual teammates, except for fun. The scoring is probably too complicated for me. Either way, welcome!
 
I would give it a go if I had a chance to test the car (I lost it along with about 400 others when my data corrupted) As im quite a nocturnal person and ive allways wanted to attempt to race one of these nutcases :p. Im right in thinking EST is 4 behind GMT? Which would make it 1-2am. (I already compete in a series on saturday at this time so sundays would be best :))
 
You're more than welcome. Not sure the conversion this time of year though I think it's usually GMT-5. Or is that +5? I'm really bad with numbers... :)
