GT5's AI is very organic compared to previous GTs, and they actually react to other cars on the track unless you're closing in on them with the speed differential of a cannonball fired at an oncoming freight train
Believe it or not but gt3's ai actually "considers" you in the race as well, l was watching the replay of my enduro, and l was going 2 wide through the dipping "s" section along route 246, and the ai actually hit the brakes and veered into a more "narrow" line than usual just to keep the 2 wide position along with me through the turn. And another case is they not also move aside so you and it (the ai) can equally share the draft, but they can sometimes just jump right out of the draft just so you can grab it and pass them fairly. But sure they can divebomb and steal the inside line from you, or they wont notice you if you're parked along a straight, and NO they are not as intelligent as gt5's ai when it comes to avoiding a collision, but more times than enough, they moved only when it was a moment of significance. And thats all you can really ask for considering its technology from 10 years ago...

14 seconds???
Well... that's not big deal... since I've always thought that the AI in GT3 is the best of the entire series... 👍
Uhh sarcasm? I apologise, but i've always had a problem detecting sarcasm when it is, and when it is not over the internet. But if so, i think 14 seconds on a track that takes 1:37.2xx to do a lap, with 73 out of 100 laps is pretty impressive for a game thats 10 years old...

Because the AI in GT3 cheated. Not because the AI in GT3 was actually better, which only a casual glance in some races could tell you that it wasn't.
Mmm please tell me how the bigger majority of the ai in the race cheated? The only "advantage" the slower "stock" cars had was longer lasting tyres. To me thats fair. And atleast the ai in gt3 is willing to be competitive, they dont "give up the line" after traveling side by side on a straight. They dont brake early and go slower than needed through turns, and they dont all take the same line through a turn. Sure gt3's is overly agressive, but atleast they consider you when it counts when going through a turn... Dont get me wrong gt5's ai is a hell of a lot smarter than gt3's, but it seems PD putting more effort into the awareness of ai than competitive racing itself... I have had nice and challenging races in gt5, but thats ONLY because l detuned my vehicle with lower grade tyres... Gt3 l can hop in a race and have all 6 vehicles on track finish a race with a difference of about 3 seconds max. Unlike gt5, race in the castrol supra z or impul calsonic gt-r in arcade, and just outbrake them and out corner them within the first 5 turns of the race.
