Man i love games that have real life relevence.

Hey Ving, do you like the Fiat? Do you have any suspension settings that i can try out? ;)

The game does have its benefits to RL driving for sure... I'll not deny that :)

Fiat settings hey? where did n=u get this crazy idea that i like fiats? ;)

True it is there in real life at times, maybe GT3 can give the front tires more gripping power to allow us to grip it through the corner.

That would be over compensation for FWD cars. The natural tendency for a FWD car is to understeer under power. This is physics and non-negotiable.

In practice, there is a horsepower limit of sorts for what a FWD race car can handle and still be competative with a RWD car. Most race car designers agree this is around ~300hp. After that the inherent limitations of the layout makes then uncompetative against a RWD car, all other factors being equal.

Which, in fact, is well represented in the game. Some of the FWD cars can be boosted to nearly 500hp, but to be driveable at that level they require absurd suspension settings and careful technique. Most of the FWD cars in the game become less than fun to drive when you get above 280-300 hp.

Its true that the tencency for FWD to understeer under throttle is just plain physics. But that trait also makes them predictable. Understeering? Back off the gas. Oversteering? Roll into the gas to make the front end pull the rear in line.

I have seen some FWD cars with low mid to upper 300 HP that do quite well at an autocross, but they have heavily modded suspensions and big, sticky tires. It is true that as power increases, the RWD advantage increases.

I hope GT4 allows you to choose (from a list) a specific set of tire and wheel sizes for your car. As of now, the only option is changing how much grip they have, and not their overall attributes like width, sidewall height, ect.

Don't forget that the torque steer effect can be reduced by using an open diff. This way, the inside front wheel spins with too much acceleration, but the car torque steers much less. Only problem, you will take forever to accelerate!
