Just wondering because im new to these boards, how many of you like cars enuf that not only do you mod every car in the game but youre car in RL(real life) as well? What do you focus on thith the car drag? SCCA? or just a quicker-than-it-was street car?

Me i have a 91' mustang that i want to make run a respectable time in the 1/4 and be able to run good on a road corse or SCCA solo track. 1/4 mile the 1/4 mile time i hope should be dowm in the mid to low 11sec range, but i might not beable to run that low because of comprmises ill have to make in the suspension to make the car turn well but, the power wont be a issue. I just ordered a turbo kit from www.turbochargedpower.com and it should be in in the next few weeks. I'am going to run a conservitive boost setting of about 8-10 PSI witch they tell me should put down in the range of 450-500 RWHP, handling will come via a maximum grip box from www.maximummotors.com (minus the kmember)

some of you my be doing way more than this to youre cars or mebey not id like to heaer about it either way, always nice to see people that are interested in driveing cars fast in a video game or on the track :)

I love my cars but I'd rather keep my road cars as standard as possible. I made a few very minor cosmetic tweaks to my old GTV (replaced the steel rims with alloys)but I got it because I liked it the way it was and I liked the way it went. It would have been easy enough to turbocharge its 2 litre engine, but then the throttle response goes mushy, and the car becomes faster but less precise, esp. on opposite lock. Also the gearing is suddenly far too short, and the only available solution was to bolt a BMW gearbox onto the back of the engine, which involved chopping bits out of the body and spoilt the 50 / 50 weight distribution. And the brakes, which are perfect, suddenly need upgrading to cope with the extra pace. The upgrades gave braking power but ruined feel, so I avoided that too. In fact, there was nothing I could think of to do to the car that didn't involve an unhappy compromise in some other area. It's been much easier with the cars I've had after the Alfa though. They all required the same modification to make them enjoyable, and that mod was to replace all of the parts, in one go, with an Alfetta GTV:)

The G60 Corrado is a "quicker-than-it-was street car", built for daily driving and occasional "open track days"...if I ever get the time. It's gotten bored .1L, w/forged internals (among other things), stand-alone on the way, and adj. coil-overs.

The 20th Ann. GTI has a new antennae, and a Speed Racer lic. plate holder.

cool nice to hear fgrom other car people:)

P.S. wow this got buried fast :)

I have a 1995 GTI VR6 and mostly just modify suspension parts. I have what I call a "sport" exhaust and a ram air to the stock air box. Other than that Its basically stock other than upgraded headlights.

I personally always liked turns over straight line speed... but if I had money, I wouldnt mind having a drag-tuned machine. :)
