I've just got back from Le Mans, They had the ad boards on the mulsanne and they had a big pitch in the village with 4 or 6 stations.

I tried to get pictures after the race, but they were dismantling the stand, also they had a big double spread advert in the paper I got. with six pictures of the courage and alot of writing in french.

Brilliant weekend, but I won't go into it here, I'll go into the rumble strip and post some pictures aswell. Bath and Bed for me now I'm knackered.

PD better be pushing everything they can outta them VUs, otherwise we won't get much more than GT3. From what I've seen though this may very well be the game the redlines the PS2 at 100%. oooooooooo I can't wait for 100 laps around the Nurburgring in my Mini!!!!!!

I think from what we've seen thus far GT4 will destroy GT3 in every area. The only major thing GT3 did better than GT2 was the much nicer PS2 graphics.

This time around we're getting:
  1. a new and improved driving physics engine (supposedly extremly realistic, and that's according to the pro racers who have tested and trained on GT4)
  2. improved graphics (even if only slightly, they're still better)
  3. more cars (definitely 500+, but there have been indications from Kaz that it will have the most cars of any GT so the # would be around 700)
  4. more tracks (including heaven on tarmac aka the RING)
  5. a new GUI (which looks waaaaay nicer)
  6. new modes (drifting comp, online racing, photo mode)
  7. new and returning features (paint shop, used car lot)
  8. ... and stuff that we probably have no idea about that PD is going to dump on us with the release and truly blow our minds. :scared:  👍

Well I for one think this should be left out, GT3 has graphics as good as they need to be, and a few extra cars or le mans would be a lot better than any graphics improvements.

^ the graphics improvements have already been made... they refined the polys on the cars and increased things like the track detail and added items like motion blur... there's debate over how much better than GT3 they actually are, hence my even if only slightly comment, but they have improved no matter what.

Sigh... You can tell we love circuit racing, we enjoy going in circles often enough.

It's probably a lot easier to increase the polygon count of cars by one or two thousand and get a yet more realistic look out of them than it is to increase the level of details trackside for every single circuit.

I don't know if Le Mans would have that much more trackside detail, I think they could get away with a lot of forests like the Ring and maybe the odd chunk of village without overloading the machine, but I don't know because I'm not PD, I don't have an exacting understanding of the PS2's architecture nor the architecture of the game engine and modelling system, so we're making some pretty big assumptions off unrelated precedents a lot of the time.

gt4 in my honest opinion is a nice step up from gt3. I mean, look at the new pics of the Nurb, impressive, alot more impressive than gt3. Everything looks alot more realistic and natural, damn paper trees though but they can do. I hope the Lemans is in, I would love to race on it but no track is more technical than the Nurb.

I should also mention that rendering changes in elevation generally isn't different to rendering flat circuits (Nordschleife vs Sarthe), the only differences occasionally arise in terms of occlusion culling, but given the size of the Nordschleife and the beauty of circuits like Citta D'Aria or whatever those Italianesque street village circuits are, you know the waterside ones on a mountain, I can't see technical restrictions.

As far as I know the Lemans file does not exist on the PAL disc as reported in that Post.

Total confirmations of the presence of Le Mans in GT4: 0.
Total confirmations that Le Mans will not be in GT4: 1.
