If they were to wait for GT4 to be "done" before it was released, we'd be waiting at least another 5 years. Kaz will always be finding new stuff he wants to put in the game, and unless he has a specific goal and deadline for the current edition, he'd never get a game out the door.
The interview that came out the other day kind of eluded to that.
He said it was hard to quantify how complete the game was.
For the most part the Cars and Tracks and AI are pretty much done, Although additions will be made uptill the game is complete.
Its the entertainment thats Left to do, mostly IMO the organizing of events and progression through the game all the way up to deciding the difficulty of each event, selelcting car lists for those events and then testing, to keep it interesting, and obviously then there is the design of all the Menus, to match up with these events.
He gave a 75% figure, but eluded to the fact that as additions are made he finds further ideas, and therefore this figure seems to remain static.
He did also acknowledge that they really do hope to be ready by year end.
He has to know that a time will come when he has to say enough is enough for the advancement of GT4, and have to stop developing new ideas.
They have obviously made incredible advancement in the game routines that i believe that KY feels he could achieve so much more had he had more time.
I think he feels that he still isnt using 100% PS2 power.
P.S Logitech will be Really Miffed if they dont get it out before this Xmas, as they really will make most sales of hardware like this in the Xmas season.
Post Xmas cash is limited, and while game sales may still be good, the demand of DFP as a gift will not be there.
