GT4 Demo released without a time limit

Are you just taking the urine now or what?

There's a whole thread dedicated to the demo and you stil felt the need to make a new one?
 
Well, let's turn it into a positive thing and announce that the time limit of the Japanese GT4 demo has fallen. If you want to know how to remove the limit, take a look at this thread: about the japanese demo. The interesting stuff begins at post #944, and there are several methods to do this, so try another if one doesn't work for you.

And torrents, well they are fast....the best out there (better than emule ,etc)

I use newsgroup from time to time
they are fast if you buy a giganew account
$24/month unlimited ... superfast! one connection can reach 200+kbps
and you can dl with few connections in the same time
best thing is you can download anything fast without concerning # of seeds
once I dl 40gb stuff in a month and I got a warning from my isp :crazy:
 
Only 200kbps? Hell, I clock 750kbps every time I run it. Only took me a couple hours to download the demo when it was first posted there. Then I figured out that I can't do anything with it.
 
"up to" doesn't mean "runs at".. I don't think anyone here's ever hit that number.

Just out of curiosity, what's the average download time through the torrent for this file?

I think its better not to think but to DO. Just try it and you'll see....i get "full speed" all the time on my DSL, but i give enough upload also (1:1 download:upload for me).

Basically for me its the same as ftp.... default bittorent client is O.K.
 
I've no need to try it.. I couldn't do anything with the demo even if I wanted to. I don't have a DVD burner, and I don't have a modded PS2. The newsgroups offer the same speed, and it never changes.. With a torrent, you're dependant on how many people are online and uploading it.. with the newsgroups, I just download it like I would from a website, it's coming from a server, not from other users.
 
I have to say torrent is very fast too, but all depends other users
my GF using torrent everyday and she got 100+k for the best
but my whole entire network slow down ... sometimes I can't even connect to GTPlanet
but if I am using newgroup, no dramatic slow down on surf internet and thats the PLUS! đź‘Ť
however, 200kbps is very fast for me already, think about using 3Mbps cable with a router sharing with 4 PCs. If I upgrade to 5Mbps modem and my pc is alone on my home network, that could be as fast as yours

i use both, both have their shortcomings, torrent are easy to get if the file is popular, newsgroups sometimes have incomplete files, so you need to use par files, and if you miss a post you'll haev to wait untill it's reposted, cause the files posted only last about 2 weeks max.

Torrent speeds are pretty random, but generally I get about 30KB/s. But the GT4 time limited demo I got a fairly constant 55KB/s which is nearly my maxmium download. Which is pretty good đź‘Ť My ADSL is 576Kbps download/288Kbps upload, if anyones interested.

Sometimes you can have (FREE) access to some content that isn't available in newsgroups.And that would be torrents.
