GT4 Drift Training

I recently learned how to succesfully drift more than three tracks fully and so in celebration decided to go try my new found skill on GT3. I picked trial mountain and a modded AE86 and my drifts were AMAZING. I mean, before when I only drifted in GT3 I wasn't any good, now after learning the proper technique in GT4 I can do some amazingly good drifts.
I think because GT4 is more realistic is teachers you better on how to drift, then you can take that to GT3 which is less realistic and drift much easier.
any found this to be true?

I find GT3 to be more realistic. GT4 is fun and is a VERRRRY good racing game, but not such a great drifting game. It's a fun game to drift due to the difficulty, but I find it unrealistic in several ways, and don't get me wrong I'm increadibly talented at GT4 drifting, and real life drifting in my 300zx. Yeah, I've gotten lots of tickets due to that. Police call drifting "exibition driving" by the way.

With practice, I've always been able to drift every track on GT3 either as show drifting or speed drifting, or street drifting on street courses 'cause they are a comb. of the two. While show drifting I can link from start line to finish line on most tracks w/o ever losing my drift. Yes, even Complex String. Of course sometimes it will take up to 48hrs. per track to get this just right. Or I could low angle speed drift and not drift the straightaways to drop my drift lap times. So yes, GT3 is easier to drift, but not much.

In real life street tires are very forgiving and racing slicks tend to be very all or nothing like. Unfortunately in GT4 all tires handle like racing slick tire physics, just some with less grip than others. If you ask me Enthusia Professional Racing has most realistic physics you will ever find. I think they should have left the GT3 physics engine alone and just tightened them up a little bit with the racing tires and only those tires, in real life they drive different than treaded street tires. GT4 has good race tire physics. GT3 has good street tire physics. Also in real life that "snap overcorrection" problem is none existant, with street tires, that is, happens all the time to cars with racing slicks (that's why I think what I do about GT4's physics engine). In my real car I have never done more than straighten out and be on the wrong line from an overcorrection before.

I personally love GT4's drift physics for being so hard however, because it's so much fun.

Are you kidding!!!!!. How could you even say that?

O.k. maybe realistic isn't the word for it. But it's better for drifting. Both games have their physics problems but GT4's affect drifting more(like the no donuts thing). GT3's problems affect normal racing alot more. So that's what I meant.

after reading this post i rememberd i have Enthusia Professional Racing so i tried it, took the s2000 with suspention tunning and drifting there is just awesome..
i love gt4 more then any game but i have to say that it was more fun drifting in Enthusia Professional Racing and there is also a cluch button but the drawback is that there aren't many tracks at least where i am now.

i herd about that game is it really worth the money

Yeah, is the game worth it for just the drifting? Because all I do on GT4 is drift, and if Enthusia is better... then I'm getting myself a new game (not that I'll quit GT4, I just want a bit more realism). So, is Enthusia really worth it? I've heard some bad stuff about the game, that's why I ask...

OH, YEAH!!!!!!!! I play it more than GT4. The physics are just so realistic. And the tracks are so fun and the AI does a good job too. Good car selection of around 230 and I think like 30 something tracks. They say 50 because they are counting backwards and wet versions etc. The only real downfall is that there is no money in the career mode and you don't buy or even choose the upgrade parts, they are given to you as a reward for driving good. But yeah I love it. Find it used for $30.

Edit: oh, and about the drifting. Are real life physics good for drifting? Your answer to that is my answer for you for if Enthusia is good for drifting.
In my opinion, Yes, this game is great for drifting. Way better drift game than GT4. Best, and most realistic drifting game I've ever played actually. (especially with the Nismo Silvia S15 S-Tune) It is so fun to go to the Touge track (I mean Dragon Range) with any rear wheel drive car. And you can Tune any car in the game however you like in Time Attack or Free Run mode so you don't have to be in Life mode to go drifting. But you can run any race with any car so you can drift your whole way through career mode if you'd like. And you have so many race options that you're never trully locked down to racing certain events or tracks. It has an arcade style unlocking thing going, But that just makes me want to play it that much more. And it's long so don't worry about it being a one week game. I can't recommend this game enough. But it is alot better with the wheel.
