well i'm located just outside of toronto...
I pre-ordered my GT4 today, and they told me it will be ready for pickup at around january 4th... this seems kinda late to me...

It's early. I suggest you get your mind set on summer 2004

I've learned to not preorder early. Look at Half Life 2, I preordered it in mid August, when it was scheduled for release on Sept 30th. But then Valve delayed the game 5 days from release for reasons STILL unknown, and now I've got 80 bucks sitting at my local EB.

Respekt, which EB did you go to btw? I go to the one at the Promenade mall.

Since i live in Whitby, I go to the one across from the whitby center.

I preordered GT4 about 2 months ago when most stores had a January 7 release date. I HIGHLY doubt that this is late. There is a very good chance that it is early. Nobody seems to know the "official" date, possibly because SCEA lists it as TBA 2004 still.

The funny thing about the release date for GT4 is Sony changed the release date info at their official GT4 web site. It used the say Mid 2004, now it has GT4 Prologue's release date. Weird.

See for yourself. The front page still reads 2004, but if you see the release date info, it has been changed to December 2003.

I sent EB Canada a nasty little letter just to see what the reply would be. I complained about how they can list a release date, not change it with the manufacturer, and at the same time accept orders for the game. IMO I think that the whole idea is stupid. It's almost like false advertising. Anyway, the reply I got consisted of EB explaining that they have experienced people that make educated guesses for what the release date will be. That makes no sense what so ever. How can anyone make a guess as to when a release date will be? Not only that, but when PD announced that the game would be pushed back, EB didn't even bother to change THEIR release date!

Thats just bad buisness, there are no more EB's near me now though, they've all become GAME. Just as bad.
