Are you referring to the game show, or the special event that was advertised as having GT4? My guess is that it was ONLY at that particular event, and not at the show itself (since PD had no presence there).

askia47
there was xbox everywhere yet there was no ps2s to be found...

that sucks, so was it completely false advertising?

Baby? It's stupid and childish. If you're going to call someone a baby, make sure you got the right one.

civicgsir
had to use that thing once, & now was the perfect time...
No, it wasn't the perfect time. Since you posted the "j/k" after it, you'll get away without a real warning this time. But don't do it again.
PhatFat
Don't be such a baby.
There's a perfectly clear set of rules that you agreed to follow. Those rules mean something, and they are enforced. The359 is simply pointing out those rules so that civicgsr can avoid getting in trouble.

You, PhatFat, on the other hand, are doing nothing but sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong, and being obnoxious about it as well. I suggest you consider growing up a little yourself before you try to mix it up with people who are in the right.

You're still being a little vague, Askia.. if GT4 wasn't there, then what WAS in that ballroom?

WOW! i had no intensions of offending anyone.
i have never been offended by anything, especially language, so i am not familiar with it. i was only intending raz & poke a lil fun with the comment of a MAN knowing who the actress of a girly girl, chick flick for teenage girls was.

sorry to break "the rules"
to be honest, i didnt read the rules. didnt know video game talk of fictitious racing was so serious & had no intentions of hurting anyones feelings. :guilty:
I do know that it's not the video game that you talk to in the forums, but real people. but, the subject matter itself should let you know that it shouldn't be so politically correct that you have to behave like your on trial for ethical treatment of humans.

in my defense, i will call on the assistance of the brilliant Mr. Dennis Miller to shed a lil insight of how I think about Polical Correctness & how touchy everyone has become:

"Everybody walks the perimeter of their own damaged esteem ever-vigilant against an incursion by They, Them. The Other Guys. Everybody's touchy and everybody's encouraged to be touchy, everybody that is . . . except me: the White Anglo-Saxon male. I'm everybody's asshole. Black people think I'm oppressive and physically deficient. Women think I'm oafish and horny. Gay people think I'm overly macho and latently homosexual. And Asians think I'm lazy and stupid.
Hey, you think you've got an ax to grind? I'm ****in' Paul Bunyan over here, okay, folks?"

"trying to negotiate straits of what's acceptably funny nowadays is like trying to navigate through the Sargasso Sea of plastic toadstools in the middle of a bumper pool table. But now, suddenly, we find ourselves in a classic overcorrection, where we're all supposed to zip through life like some huge societal squadron of Blue Angels, flying six inches off each other's taste wing, never ever deviating even one angstrom. Why don't we start by letting humor serve as our guide? Laughter is one of the great beacons in life because we don't defract it by gunning it through our intellectual prism. What makes us laugh is a mystery -- an involuntary response. The point is, people who are threatened by jokes are the same people who tend to refer to actors on the soap operas by their character's name. Listen, there's a real world, and then there's the joke world, okay. The joke world we can get tough -- wear a cup. Y'know something, folks, it wouldn't hurt if everybody held their cards a little closer to their vest. Don't let 'em know they've rattled you if it hits close to home. You should be able to take that joke right in the solar plexus, get up, get that two-cycle weed-whacker engine of a brain humming, and give as good as you got. And if you get bested, go home, sharpen your verbal machete, and get ready for the next thicket. Relax. Relax. The truth is, the human sense of humor tends to be barbaric, and it's been that way all along. I'm sure on the eve of the Nativity, when the "tall" Magi smacked his forehead on the crossbeam while entering the stable, Joseph took a second away from pondering who impregnated his wife and laughed his little carpenter ass off.

You know a sense of humor is exactly that -- a sense. Not a fact, not etched in stone, not an empirical math equation, but just what the word intones -- a sense of what you find funny.

And obviously everybody has a different sense of what's funny.

You know something, there's nothing wrong with a culture where everybody has a different idea of what's humorous. The last time I can remember an entire nation being on the same page, it was Germany in the late thirties and it didn't really turn out that funny. Remember: In its time and place, what Hitler said was considered politically correct; and it's that blind adherence to what is situationally palatable that is truly dangerous. We should question it all. Poke fun at it all. Piss off on it all. Rail against it all. And most important, for chrissakes, laugh at it all. Because the only thing separating holy writ from complete bull**** is your perspective. It's your only weapon. Keep the safety off, don't take yourself too seriously, and remember that at the end of the day, this is just an ant farm with beepers, and it takes zero politically correct assholes to screw in a light bulb, because they are perpetually in the ****ing dark"

and if you read the whole little rant their, I am appologizing ahead of time for offending anyone with that too, sorry. :guilty:

I do really enjoy the site here. it is a good resource for new information on GT4.
i have been a true long time GT fan. the only reason i bought a PS1 was for anticipation of GT1 back in 98. My purchase of a PS2 was for GT. matter of fact, the only games i own are the GT series & a NCAA football game. i am not a "Gamer", but more of a car guy than anything. I road race in real life as well, & GT is a great outlet for when i cant be on track. something to do for fun.

A simple "I screwed up and I'll follow the rules from now on" would have sufficed...

well, i would have, but, first you have to know "the rules" before you can "screw up" these rules.

i mean, it's not like i declared a whole continent of people to be the worst individuals on the planet, the real scum of the earth, like i read in the TGS thread.

just an onslot of hate directed towards South American people. I thought that if anything would be offensive, that would have to be it.

i guess basically, i'm looking for a definiton of what's "offensive"?

i dunno...it seems as though, it is possible to be offended by just about anything.

And it is up to Someone else to determine what I think is offensive or not....kind of like the FCC

You're really complicating a simple matter. You posted something that was insulting towards others which is clearly breaking the rules of this forum. Just because you ignored the rules doesn't mean they don't exist.
