GT4 NA Replay BIG BUG!!!!!!!

WTF is goin on with GT4 im really dissapointed with all the bugs, but what I cant stand is the replay bug I have. If I make a solo race like a time trail or a practice in GT mode the replay works great, i can see what i did with no trouble at all, BUTTTTTTTTT when I race against another cars, the replay reallyyyyyyyyyyyy sucksssss, the car starts doing this crazy stuff I didnt make, starts hitting walls, stops completely, starts loosing control and running through the grass or dirt, and it doesnt show anything I just made during the race, whats going onnnn!!!! its really sad to have this kind of bugs in a so anticipated game, im really pissed off, I also have the NTSC/J GT4 and it doesnt have the replay bug, also in the NA GT when racing in 2 player battle the shakiness in the screen really makes your friends go away :yuck: 👎 dammit!!!! the stupid system doesnt make a perfect couple with GT4....


Who else have this bugs??
 
I had that happen to me once, but it was only on the occasion when I hit fast forward before the replay basically began, and then my car went and hit a wall and stalled out on the first turn. :indiff:
 
Basically, what happens is during the race you play, the game doesn't record events like if it was filming. It only records the player's input as well as the AIs.

So if at 1.2234 second you start steering right and end it at 1.8241 second, the 'replay' will 'replay' those same commands to recreate your race.

This is the kind of reply used in Simulations because the time spent 'in-game' is too long to be recorded. (games like IL2 Sturmovik, LockOn, FlightSim 2004 all use this technique).

I haven't seen this in GT4, or any other GT of the series, but a reason this happens is if you temper with the timing of the console or the game. (fast forwarding, slowing down) or if you use unappropriated devices such as Gamesharks or other means, which temper with the game's code and timing.

Hope this helps to understand what happens during replays. As for why it happens to you, no idea, sorry.
 
A ghost from GT2 only happened to me once in GT3 can you tell us what event and more details of when this happened???
 
The replay is saved a "path data", so if you drive with a setting that is extreme, then the car is the replay having a hard time to do the same as u did.

The replay is not a "recorded screen", so your actually looking "live".

This happen to me back in GT2 :)
 
day it came out, bought the game... I raced and watched the replay and it seems like my car isn't in sync, starts ramming walls and going off the track but still turns/breaks/throttles like if I were still racing...

then it didn't happen for awhile...

replay glitch happened again today. I was going to test/change some settings on my car as far as tune up. "driving park" in "motorland" and ran serveral laps in "practice meet" then after I was done! I watched the replay and my car started trippen again LOL... I know I ran several laps but when the replayed showed, it only went thru about 1/4 of the track then went into retard mode!!! hahaha... (also tried it with other cars and it did the samething) I guess the game can't duplicate my great driving skills. it gets lost between HOLY, he's quick! and DANG how'd he do that! j/k

it only happens in driving park, motorland, practice meet... when I play all the other races, it doesn't glitch! I don't have any mod chips installed but I do own hd advance & hdd but I play GT4 off the original DVD disc...
 
I've never seen this bug. Did you cheat at all?
 
Never happend to me...., weird...in ur case.

It happened to me and i didnt have a care in the world, if something rare like this bothers you to the extreme then maybe you should just not pkay the game if little thing are going to bug you. This can happen in any game and its happened to me in pc games xbox game etc.
 
Worst one was Jarrett and Labonte Stock Car Racing on the PS1. After about a lap, 99% of the time, the replays bore no relation to what actually happened.

SPend a LOT of time watching replays in GT and not seen a single glitch.

Ive waited 2 years for this game that was supposed to be "perfect" thats why it bothers me dude I spend 200 bucks for the game and the DFP to have some bugs on the game, thats not fair dude, Im not a mediocre guy as you....
 
Listen, if youre not so mediocre why don't you go out and buy your own 4,000,000 dollar Supercar and race around your own neighborhood?! BECAUSE YOU ARE CAN'T DO THAT OUTSIDE OF A GAME THAT'S WHY! If you don't like it return it at the store you got it from, the same goes for your DFP. Oh and by the way there is NO way ANY game could be perfect.
 
I've never had a problem with the replay in GT3 or 4 so far. I have about 30-40 GT3 and 12-15 GT4. I have never used any cheat stuff.

ok.. it's obvious you are not hitting the replay button... you are hiting the B spec button instead of the replay button.
 
Why does everyone bash people for reporting bugs or getting pissed about them? They have every right, they put money up for this game and of course you want it to perform as it should. If no one complained, we'd probably have some really ****ty games today. With that said...correct me if I'm wrong, but it almost sounds like its only a problem with people who use cheating software, which causes problems in other games as well. Its one of the reasons I refuse to use any codes/cheats on my games...I haven't had any problems yet.

Firts of all nobody is talking about 4 million dollar supercars, second of, I have a 2003 Corvette and a 2004 Renault Clio Sport and yes its really ****in awsome to drive it on your nieghborhood, but that cars as far as I can tell have no ****in BUGSSSSSSS thats why I spent lots of money for those cars because you are getting somethin that retailers say have quality, and the same goes for PD or Sony, they are offering you a COMPLETE Game that took almost 3 years of development, I love GT im a big fan, and yes im a little pissed because of the bugs and I remember GT3 having no bugs like GT4 or PGR2 also had no bugs as far as i can tell and nobodo said a Game must be perfect, so whats your damn problem?????'

Ive played GT4 NTSC/J seens January I already finished it, believe me, I know whats B Spec and Replay mode and I didnt have that problems with the japanese version, its only with the NA version

Wow it sounds like the bugs from Driv3r made their way into GT4!

Sorry I can't say as I'm having this problem. Only the jittery screen once in awhile.

GT3 has no bug? what about that wheelie and the outside the track infinite run???
i'm not into xbox but i'm pretty sure it has bugs somewhere (esp something from MS)

Well if you have those two cars then spending 200 dollars on a game that will last you 6 months (or more) and a great steering wheel wouldnt be such a problem will it?! Bugs like this cant be fixed so theres no point in whining about it in an internet forum.
