Race Rules
NO B-Spec!
Arcade mode
Weight penalties, results-based
No Power changes
Any tyre combination allowed
Strong Tire Wear
Rev Limiter penalty system (same as rallies/missions)
Driving aids Optional
Points for race: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 (pre 2010 F1 scoring)
Try to keep at least 2 wheels on Tarmac/Rumble strips
Tarmac includes the stuff on the exit of turn 15/ heading into 16
Also inclues the inside of the tunnels, but good luck to you if you use them!

I just want to say a few words before the last race:

Thanks for participating in the series, and sorry for being so late and lazy in these last few rounds. This has been my first series at GTPlanet, and I enjoyed racing you guys, even if i have been smited on a weekly basis. This really has been fun for me, and if you're still playing GT4 around November/December, I'll see if I can get the series going again.

As a side note, how have you raced this series? I usually do 1 or 2 runs, with both aids on, because I never really learnt to turn the aids off until about 40% on my second run through the game.
 
Well, well! The finally is upon us and I'm going to miss this series. :grumpy: It's been quite a ride, to say least.

It's funny you should ask that question at this stage of the series, granturismite! I was thinking along those lines as well.

The first two rounds I ran straight-forward. Threw on (f/r) R2/R1 tyres with no pit stop, then switched up at the third round with starting treads R3/R2, making one pit, then I'll switch to R4/R3 for the final laps.

After spending most of my life working with my hands, mechanic, woodwork, plumbing etc., the dexterity in my fingers are all but gone. So I use all aids when engaged in GT4, so as to prop-up the lack of fine tuning skills I've lost in my fingers.

AI runs level +10 throughout the entire series, with two grades better tyres at the start. It ensures I'll always have a 200 A-spec race, that pushes me to the limit while keeping the AI somewhat on a stable race-line throughout.

Well! There goes my secret recipe. Now, I'm gonna have to hunt you guys down. :)
 
If I'm in a GT4 kind of mood I will do several trials with different tire and pit strategies to find the best time. Otherwise I'll do one or two runs on a one stop strategy... my bouncing from top to bottom of the results from week to week shows this :D

I always run with a manual transmission and no aids whatsoever... I'm a bit obsessive with that. On a side note to go along, I have never used nitrous in GT mode... too ricy for my taste ;)
 
Wel here we are. The last round. This has been a really fun series. If this series came back i would definitely enter it again. I usually do two to three runs for each race although sometimes i might do four. All of the races i've done in thje honda have been no pit stop runs. I only use traction control on 5.

Well done to granturismite for running the series concurrently with study and thanks to everyone who participated for the often humbling competition.

I probably did between 2 - 5 attempts for each race. I pitted once for every race (twice at Monaco which I regret) using a combo of R2 - R4 tyres.

I used Aids @ 000 and had the AI on -10 mostly, apart from Tokyo & Lemans (maybe Fuji as well, can't remember) where i stuck em on +10 to make use of the draft.

For this race, in practice twice in the final chicane on the fifth lap I bumped the Celica rally car which got me a 10 sec penalty both times, some cursing and a race restart ensued for both. Happy enough with my final run though.

Thank you so much granturismite for this wonderful series. This actually got me back into Gran Turismo again. That's saying something, because I was hooked on my new Rock Band drums for a long time.

BTW, I use aids, manual, difficulty 2, (for one make NSX race:)) R4/R3 if the course isn't too demanding, or R3/R2. With my DFP, always.

It's been a great series granturismite, I'll be keeping an eye out for your next series. I haven't been able to justify getting a PS3 yet, so this is it for me.

My final submission. I only put in one run today. I put this off 'till today for some reason. Felt ok, and never a penalty. Like every race.
 
Ehh had a bad day karting and spent the rest with my girl, so you all can guess how my one and done run was!

I hope a series on GT4 stays alive! I'm thinking road cars (M3, S4, etc) on standard tires for you realism freaks would make for a decent series. We'll see in a few weeks! Good luck everyone, great series!
 
^ I actually have some ideas for a series this summer. A little hint: One make Time Trial.

Time submitted. I'm a bit late submitting my time thie round because my PS3 died on me. It suddenly turn off and then the power light started blinking red. When i try to turn it back on i get green light, yellow light then blinking red light again. I only got two runs in this time too.
 
Any news of results? I'm in no rush, just wondering.
 
Oh SITH!! I forgot. No really, I did! I ran out of time to do the run, then I forgot to do the results. Maybe Tuesday, but tommorow is Mother's day, so thats a write off.

I'll try to put the up soon, before the lynchin' committe comes...
