Circuit de la Sarthe- 8 laps (Forwards)

Please note that this race will take a little longer than the other races (approx- 30 mins)

Race Rules
NO B-Spec!
Arcade mode
Weight penalties, results-based
No Power changes
Any tyre combination allowed
Strong Tire Wear
Rev Limiter penalty system (same as rallies/missions)
Driving aids Optional
Points for race: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 (pre 2010 F1 scoring)
Try to keep at least 2 wheels on Tarmac/Rumble strips


Results Submission

Submit Via Private Message including:
User Name
Class
Car
Number
Weight (total, and total penalty %)
Total Time
A photo of the screen displaying the total time would be good too.

Submissions due by 10pm Monday 21st Febuary, Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time
To ensure correct timing, try to submit before Sunday the 20th

10pm Monday here is 2pm Monday in Paris, 6am Monday in New York, 3am Monday in Los Angeles

Quick clarification: Are the red parts around various parts of this track considered to be on or off road?
The rules say "Try to keep at least 2 wheels on Tarmac/Rumble strips" which suggests to me they ain't part of the track, but i think the general consensus is that they are.

I don't care about which way you decide, but i just wanna know what your opinion/rules are, I'll be happy to stick them either way.
 
I presume OLR applies, but then again, the man has the final say, so.

It's gonna be difficult with the rev-limiter in this one. Okay, let's burn rubber gents!

Yeah. You can use the red tarmac, just try to stay off the grass/sand (ie. cutting the chicanes)

I am formally requesting to be removed from the series. I simply do not have the time for it. I'd love to continue, but I need to focus on school. My marks need to be high if I want to become a certified accountant. :(

Some more bad news, I'm also dropping out of this series.
Mostly, because after the 2nd race, I would only race the day the times had to be in, and I'd rush it.
I also didn't play any other time. I just can't get back into Gran Turismo right now.
I'm also the points leader, so that sucks too.
Good luck to everyone here, and I hope, in another series, I might be back.

:( They're dropping like flies. Some people may be quite happy to see the back of n1nj4ofshr3d's skills, but I wish you could all stay on.

AI + 10 R3's
Top speed set to 330

Lots of drafting for this race, I decided to do 5 laps on R3's then 3 laps on R4's.
I drafted the main pack (Viper, GTR LM & Fairlady Z) for the first 5 laps, then the Nissan Fairlady Z (because it pitted on lap 4) on laps 6, 7. I then made a break for a 200pt victory coming into the Ford chicane at the end of lap 7. So I won by about 3-4 seconds over the two Nissans.

PS. As I've just finished my accounting degree, i guess I'll just have to keep doing the series. JK this is a good series, thumbs up for granturismite for organizing it.

Also n1nj4ofshr3d, will probably still beat quite a few of us, based solely on the points collected so far.

Time submitted. It's dissapointing to see somebody dropping out of the series but, there's nothing can be done though. Not everybody has free time nowadays including myself... Whatever it is, good luck everyone. I didn't do good this week, was in hurry to get this done with some other stuff.
 
Sorry to see you guys go, hope all will be well, definitely would love to run this with all involved again. I've just submitted my time, hope I made it in on time.

ah jeez hope I wasn't late! Went with R1's for a no stop race, but I'm not too confident that was the best strategy...

IF I read the chart right, due time was about 5 1/2 hours ago. I submitted early because I knew I wouldn't get another chance to run & didn't want to forget.
I'm anxious to see how you did w/No Pit stop. I tried it @ Tokyo, I think & it didn't work well for me. Cost me about 8 seconds if I remember. Of course I was so far off the pace there that it didn't really matter.

Sorry about that. I get your submissions, but don't read them so I don't spoil it myself, and so I don't spend 30 hours trying to beat your times.

I download the messages into text, and use the text file to build up the results spreadsheet.

Anyway, results shortly, even though I'm supposed to be learning JavaScript
