Sorry about the wait on trial mountain results guys. Just waiting on some data validation from a racer who shall remain anonymous. So I thought I would give a heads up on the next round, maybe a chance for some testing

Thanks for the "Heads Up"! This is a tough track for me in that some of the turns are a little difficult to see until you're right on them & landmarks are virtually non existent. Also, there are NO T-Times on this track, so you don't know how you're doing until you complete the entire Lap. Good Luck All!

I noticed the lack of splits also. I was pushing all the buttons on the controls trying to "turn them on" HA,

When you try to take a fast line around a turn, an AI car always sticks a wheel in.

I agree, this track is very difficult to judge where to go especially starting from turn 10 onwards. This track really requires a lot of concentration, once you lost the hang of it you'll go off the track and far-far away before you rejoins the circuit.

The lack of split is very well known, perhaps because PD completed the whole lap before the real one did, and thus they have no idea where should the sectors be. All in all, this is yet another tough weekend, expecting it to be tougher than Trial Mountain. Good luck all! 👍

Personally, I love this Circuit. If I don't do well, I might just have to go hang myself of the back of my racer's spoiler!

Here's hoping for another good round!

EDIT: Weighting from Round 5 now included in first post!

I was forced to learn this track the hard way via my son. He would always choose it everytime we did 2 player battle using F1 cars (whew). It was all offroad for me at first, him too, but we both had a lot of laughs with it.

Good luck to all in this round! And no more hiccups from me. lol

The last thing I expected was a podium finish @ Trail Mountain, so I ran a bunch of races here yesterday at +3 & figured I was about as fast as I was going to get. Checked in this afternoon to find out my practice was all for naught. Threw an extra 22 pounds of junk in the trunk & headed out for another 13 laps. The Astra felt a lot slower but I was only about 5 seconds off yesterday's best against the same line-up. Changed gearing & picked a different difficulty factor & not only made up the 5 seconds but found another 3, mostly due to finding a good "Drafting Mate." Doubt I'll find any more time but will give it a try again if I can. GOOD LUCK ALL!

I took the chance to do it today, and already submitted the time... It is tough, and the front tyres are wearing out quite fast. Good Luck all! 👍

Time submitted, and I made doubley sure I got the lap count right in this round. I made three passes this round using tyre rotations and got pole position in all three, I did however restart everytime I got a penalty, those darn AI kept getting in the way.

Gotta agree with InvincibleM5, it's a tough one. Good luck all still in the running!!!

And even though I put a damper on the last results, I'm really enjoying this series, thanks to you guys.

👍

I am bit behind on practice this week. I did a few laps early in the week and figured out how to get through the pack without contact. I am trying to do them all as 200 point races for extra fun.

This has been a great series, I have already slipped out for a few laps on the 'Ring. Those touring cars are very quick there.

Time submitted. After the incredible amount of bumps on Trial Mountain, my Takata NSX settled in pretty well on the relatively flat surface of Fuji Speedway 2005 (Seriously, my car was hopping around so much at "The Mountain" that I nick-named "Gallopping Gurdie!" :P).

If you thought that about Trial Mountain, wait 'till we hit The Green Hell. lol

Seriously though, you've got to run tracks like that slowly and make markers/mental notes of where the uneven pavement are, most if not all MR cars are light in the bridle and biased at the kaboose (rocking horse). LOL

Edit: Welcome Back n1nj4ofshr3d . 👍

Sight markers and mental notes aren't really a problem for me. I've been playing GT4 since it first came out and Trial Mountain is a track i've known since the original GT: I just didn't expect the car to react so violently over the various bumps. Also, because the Takata NSX has an obscene amount of "Engine Braking" it made life a little bit interesting going through that first sector!

The Nurb' shouldn't be too much of a problem either...I've clocked many miles there in cars that were WAAAY scarier to drive that this one! :sly: Thanks for the advice though!

Yeah, wasn't doubting your experience with the game Kingofweasles, it was just funny from your post. It seemed as if you rarely use the Takata. I was referencing the car more so than the track, I should have elaborated better.

You're going to have quite a bit of fun on the green hell with it. :sly:

Good luck this round! 👍

Got my first run in with my new car, the Mobil 1 NSX. feels alot better than the Lister. Ran the hole race on R1's. didn't need to pit.

Pulled in a run at 4:00 in the morning, 'cause I couldn't sleep (Pepsi).
Only pit once, and I felt great out there. It seems like I don't lose much tire grip using the wheel than the D-pad.

Yeah, I never use the Takata NSX. When I was running Super GT all of the time, I never felt that the Takata was fast enough to keep up with the others..I still don't think it's all that great of a car (At least in comparison to monsters like the Nissan Motul Pitworks Z or the Mazda RX-7 LM), but I'm surprised at how well it drives.

Just no on bumpy surfaces. :sly:

Did my final runs in the trusty Astra! Racing here in SuperGT last season really gave me an advantage here as the line is incredibly difficult to learn, especially through the last sector (although, there aren't REALLY any sectors at all!). Good luck all!

Time submitted; although I think I used a different line every lap, for the last couple of corners, but hopefully I still did ok.

Time submitted. Managed to get a quicker time than yesterdays time. hopefully i did well.

Got mine done too. Raced as a 200pt race. I somehow stayed with the Nissan and got several good pulls along the way. Had to let him go on the last lap due to way-gone tires.

Great event. Time sent

Hi All! Time submitted. Sorry for not contributing more this week but have been very busy. Used my run from early in the week so I could concentrate on the 'Ring. It's NOT my favorite track & I don't expect to do well but I did run two races each w/three different weight penalties. I'm going to be out of town from 12-20 March so I need this Tuesday to run SS Rte 5 [again w/three weight penalties] so I'll have a proper time to submit while I'm gone.
Good Luck All for the next two rounds!

Has anyone else figured out, if you are using a JGTC, that there is a difficulty that will be a one make race? Or maybe, it's just NSX's. (Diff. 2)
Does anyone know why there is two sets of tarmac on '05?

I'm not quite sure what you mean there, but I've hads instances where a field would end up being my car, another one and 4 00'-'01 JGTC NSX's when running at +10 AI...I guess it comes down to what car you drive.

Does anyone know why there is two sets of tarmac on '05?

The "Second set of Tarmac" was the replacement for gravel trap run-off areas. It seems that F1 cars/teams/drivers don't like those very much anymore...Or maybe it's because Tarmac could theoretically do a better job at slowing a car down than Gravel?

Either way, it's quite difficult to drive around a track like the new Fuji and know where exactly you are.

^I would've never thought of that. I also think that it makes the track huge, and a little too much to look at.
I'm going to do one last run Monday night with R4 tires. Yeah, I said soft tires.

Welcome Back! If I read the time chart properly, 10 P.M. Aussie time is 6 A.M. your time & that passed a couple of hours ago. [I'd still be interested to see your results.]

Are you serious? Can more people confirm this?

^ Yes, it is 10pm Aussie eastern daylight time, thats what is in every thread, including a time converter link so you can check your time zone to mine.

I did it this way because Australia gets to monday night as North/South America finishes its weekend, and Europe is about monday morning. Personally, I would have liked to be finished each Sunday, but that doesn't work for most other nations, so thats why it's 10pm Australian time
