Mr.OzzyGT
Hey what's up people..got a new fresh time here...

1:48:035/Honda Takata Dome NSX '03/494HP/1170KG/R3/Mr.OzzyGT:sly:

Ciao....

damn thats fast:dunce:

do you have a replay or something, i would love to see that time:tup:

AdamW
Hum, call me dumb, where can you see the car weight? The only place I knew to find it before was to look at the 'weight reduction' tuning option and check the 'before' number, but I did stage 3 weight reduction now so I can't check it there any more.

also, what's the definitive HP figure? because the garage screen tells me one thing, the 'car info' screen tells me another, and the 'analyzer' screen tells me yet another (424, 418 and 398 respectively).

anyway, my time is now 1:59.989 in the uber-rx8 - rx8 with all engine upgrades and second to highest turbo. on r5s. :P

On the HP, the car info screen would be best. And on that same screen you
can look at the weight of your car. Also can you put your times down in the
way that I asked, then I can put down your times:).

angel: I was going to as soon as I had all the info :). I'm sure I checked the car info screen about ten times and couldn't see the weight, I'll give it another shot, though...

OK, found it - it's on the page when you try and *sell* the car, didn't think of that...so:

1:59.989 / Mazda RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '01 / 408HP / 1056KG / R5 / AdamW

Got some ideas to try and get it a bit faster today...

edit: yep, thought so :)

1:53.759 / Mazda RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '01 / 494HP / 1056KG / R5 / AdamW

Good time:tup:, and thanks for puting down your time in the way I asked:).

I must drive this track again, im just getting nightmares not driving it:crazy:

I managed to get my Mutant RX-8 to exactly 499HP today (the HP decreased over time to the point where I could re-enable my racing chip and get exactly 499, previously I had a little over 500 with it turned on) but I only get a 1:54.0 in before I was kicked off the PS2 in favour of Final Fantasy X-2 :(. sigh! I know I could've had a 1:52 as well - I had a lap where I was 1.1 seconds up then ditched it on the high-speed left near the end of the lap. grr. i just love suzuka, though. could drive it all day...

tiny update, doesn't change the standings though:

1:53.329 / Mazda RX-8 Concept (Type-II) '01 / 499HP / 1056KG / R5 / AdamW

I was too conservative in the final chicane or it might've been 1:52, arg :(

Hmm, that car sounds really good:). I think I will try it and see what time I can get:sly:.

angel: it's heavily customised: stock it's only about 260HP, but NA. I fit all available HP upgrades including the stage 3 turbo (that's the highest it's allowed), and full customize gearbox set very close - if you don't do this, it'll suck, because every time you upshift it'll lose a bundle of power (the combined effects of turbo lag and very bad low end performance). I tweaked it until it just hits engine cutout as you start braking at the end of the main straight, going 180 or so. it's pretty expensive, but I like the car. you have to fiddle about with the racing chip and exhaust etc to keep it under 500HP, depending on mileage since the last oil change and so on. it turns out to be quite well suited to suzuka - it's not nearly as good at fuji, for instance, as the main straight is longer so it tops out way too early, but if you set the gears less close, you start losing a lot of power elsewhere...

it also has full customize suspension riding very low, 1.5-way limited slip, and all three stages of weight reduction.

I wonder if I should put it in that Tsukuba contest? i guess it might do a pretty quick lap...have to try tomorrow.

The rotary cars are fast, light and are good handler. If tuned right I can outrun
Skylines and Supras. My RX-7 with 630HP can almost beat my Suzuki GSX-R/4.

Well it's time to go to bed. Goodnite:).

Practice is free run, right?

Might have a crack at this to see how fast (or slow ;)) I am compared to some of you guys :)

sharky: yup. just don't do what I did and use sport tyres :P

stidriver: nice times.

Cool. Should have times tomorrow. And no, I won't forget to use racing tyres. :dopey:

Fast times as always:tup:.

Fast times as always:tup:.

Slow time warning! :D

1'55.248/Nissan Calsonic Skyline '00/493BHP/1100KG/R5/blue_sharky39

2'04.296/Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG (R230) '02/493BHP/1622KG/R5/blue_sharky39 <- no wing; ride height adjust, weight reduc., tyres only mods
2'03.750/Lotus Motorsport Elise '99/345BHP/800KG/R5/blue_sharky39 <- stock wing, plus other mods
2'03.158/Lotus Motorsport Elise '99/345BHP/800KG/R5/blue_sharky39 <- GT Auto wing, brake bal tweak from time above

Putting that into perspective, my Calsonic Skyline time is about 2.4 sec slower than appie in the 320i Touring Car... :dopey:

...despite the Skyline having more power (+32bhp) and less weight (-40kg) than said Beemer. :grumpy:

Makes me feel like an old man. :nervous: (But I'm only 16...)

why not try some of the same cars the top guys are using? there can be more to the car than just weight and power...

Yeah, I might. :)

@blue-shaky39
I put down your faster Elise time because they both have the same HP and Weight.

i will be sure to add more times later on:)

1:55:834/Honda NSX-R Concept '01/479HP/1079KG/R5/blue_sharky39
1:59.333/Lotus Elise 111R '04/326HP/808KG/R5/blue_sharky39
1:53.741/Opera Performance S2000 '04/467HP/902KG/R5/blue_sharky39

Finally! Some faster times. ;) (and boy, that Opera S2k is quick.)

you really should be able to beat my Mutant RX-8 in it though ;)

...if I actually knew how to tune suspension properly...

Heh, I'm no expert, I just cranked mine as low as it'd go and followed the little scrolly text for setting the others :)

new times:tup:

1'53,895/Cusco Advan Subaru Impereza (JGTC)'03/426hp/1100kg/R5/appie17

I just love this track:)

hehe, I should give some of my other cars a spin soon.

Just out of interest, why couldn't you get the RX-7 up to 500HP? I thought that should be possible...

Which one do you mean, because the old ones can not get to 500HP but the
new ones can get over 600HP so I guess it's up to you which one you drive:).

@appie17
You need to stop posting AWD car, because the rules say(by you) only RWD cars.

angel: the one appie was driving - it's a JGTC version RX-7 so surely it'd tune to 500HP somehow?
