709 cars...SWEET 👍

Shame i can't read japanese. If someone buys it some scans of the car pages would be nice, the book may a complete spoiler though so perhaps it's best no-one gets it? i do want some surprises but i also want all the info i can get!

Dilemma :dunce:

OH JEEZ, SOMEONE GET IT NOW! GO GO GO! SQUAD MOVE OUT!!

Oh... Yeah. The 709 plus 38 tracks might be incorrect infomation. The site could simply be using old infomation. I've seen this happen before.

EDIT: Hell there have already been more than 38 tracks confirmed.

EDIT 2: Also for the car number, 709 could A. Be the number of cars not including secret cars (F1 etc.) or B. "Characteristics of all the cars in the game." < ALL the cars?? It could simply be that only 709 of the cars have infomation. You're not honestly telling me it has data on EVERY version of the R34 are you? I doubt the Midnight Purple, R34 Nur and V-Spec II handle like totally different cars after all.

About a potential North American release for this book, it does look promising. Ebgames has had listed, along with the regular Prima strategy guide, a GT4 Book which is to retail for $34.99.

Umm..I guess you guys didn't read the GTP Insider...:D

Alpha found this weeks ago! It's been on sale on amazon for some time now.

Although nice find VV 👍

Edit:

Works out at around £15 too. Shame I can only read about three words in kanji and ten in hiragana. Katakana I'm not too bad at but no way would I try to read this! 👎 I'm far too thick! :dunce:

The problem with ordering this is that by time it arrives, GT4 will already be out in Japan...

The only way this car list in the book will be useful is if someone in Japan can buy this in a bookstore or something.

Another option is if you live in a city with a Kinokuniya bookstore. There are several in the US. Seattle has one. I'm going to head down there today and see if they have it.

I think the japanese version is out today...? But anyway, what's with prima making a "guide" and a book? Anyone know details on how this book will be different? Someone mentioned a dvd coming with "the bible" in japanese...and if any of you guys from Japan buy one, we'll all send you a yen.

The site says that it goes on sale the same day that the game comes out (i.e. 12-28-04)

The problem for the people that want to order it is that the entire book is probably in Japanese. So it would be almost worse than useless to us.

It would be nice to see it released elsewhere, but we never get the cool stuff. And we already know SCEA has no intention of doing anything related to GT4 except releasing the game eventually. They don't even give us demos, what makes you think they're going to give us a book?

And the Prima book is not the same thing. It has only half the pages, and no DVD. As far as I can tell, it's just a fancy version of their normal Game Guide, but there's zero specifics on it anywhere, just that it exists. Even Prima's own site doesn't have any information on it.

The "38 course" part actually is about a guide to "All 38 course attacks", I think. (The katakana says course attack data. The "data" part confuses me.) My guess is that means a guide to the Time Trials. 38 is a great improvement over the 10 that were in GT3. No worries about there being only 38 tracks.

The "709" part says something like "All 709 cars' attack data." I'm wondering what exactly "attack data" means. Take out the "attack" part, and it would clearly be just "Data on all 709 cars". Hmmmm...

It also includes a catalog of "All 100 songs" from the game, and (I'm guessing a bit on this last part) info on the cities that have tracks from GT4: Paris, NY, Hong Kong, one other.

The bottom part of the linked webpage is quotes from a car specialist, test driver, and car photographer, talking about how great the game is.

Could you tell us what the specialist, test drivers, said about gt4 if you dont mind? And is there any other info we should know about?
