It would be nice to see it released elsewhere, but we never get the cool stuff. And we already know SCEA has no intention of doing anything related to GT4 except releasing the game eventually. They don't even give us demos, what makes you think they're going to give us a book?
Thankfully, it's not SCEA's job to publish books.

I didn't find any other important (as in new) info on the page. To give you a rough, paraphrasing translation of what the people said at the bottom of the page, the first guy, (who I think is more of a car critic than specialist, now that I consult my dictionary) just says that GT4 is a real simulation. Boring.
I had some trouble understanding exactly what the test driver said, but he talks about the Nurb ring a bit, mentions there are some dangerous places on it, and says that driving the GT4 version of the Nurb is good practice for the real thing.
The photographer talked about photo mode, and just said that the things you do in photo mode are the same things he does in real-life as a professional photographer. Anyone can take pictures like a pro with it.

There were a few parts I didn't understand 100%, but I`m pretty sure that I'm not missing anything major.

I got a web tranlation from excite.co.jp

This book was planned on the extension of a game "GURANTSURISUMO 4." In the style of a game, since it supplements with another side of the philosophy of GURANTSURISUMO which had fallen, there is this book. The trial to communication do not tell but according to language at the side of the game of boast. This book is a manual which speeds up an understanding to "GURANTSURISUMO 4."

Does GURANTSURISUMO become an operation simulator? Of course, it becomes. Does GURANTSURISUMO operation become nice? It becomes absolutely. (Omission) GURANTSURISUMO functions as an automobile marginal run simulator, and it is actually effective.

Although it is in the position of raising a junior test driver, in Nissan, making a driver young and actually, powerful take and run to Nuerburgring suddenly has a risk very much. Although it jumps out in fact, ちゃった squirrel ること is rare and there are much まぁ and YATSU which puts in conversely って crying "which cannot be run such a place", as for ぜん違う, it is also ず suddenly to have trained by NYURU of GT4 for several hours whenever [ to a course / mastery ].

Photograph mode will be able to do the almost same thing as I am doing now. If there is even passion to a car, a work with which anyone exceeds I pros may be built.

the number of tracks is more than 50, PD has confirmed this. I dont know what's up with the book saying there are 38 tracks.

Sorry if I was unclear in my post above, but the 38 refers to 38 "time attacks", which I`m pretty sure are the same as Time Trials. Y'know, similar to a license test, one hot-lap, have to beat a certain time for gold. There were 10 in GT3.

So, there are 38 Time Trials.
Still no word on how many tracks.

Whoops, I think it's more my fault for not paying enough attention.

The 38 track thing is bugging me.

The list Ive compiled contains close to this figure, as confirmed tracks.
That is full courses, although there will be shorter versions of some.

The book is meant to be the complete guide.
It features all the car data for all cars, it seems reasonable to assume that it would include a driving guide for all the tracks.
And not a driving guide just for Time attack events.

Now if that is the case I will be quite dissapointed at the track count.

PD initially offered 100 as the count.
This was then reduced to 50+.
Then in a recent preview it was suggest that the total would be 65, plus variations which would bring the total to 90.

Im now concerned that with just over a week to go that no info or media in any demo or preview/interview has shown anything on new courses.
To be honest the only tracks im really looking forward to driving are Suzuka, Motegi and the Ring and maybe El capitan, Fuji and tsukuba have been driven to death in Prologue, and arent really great circuits anyway, and all the revamped old circuits have been done to death 3 times over.
City course dont do it for me, and rally tracks the same.

I really hope this isnt the case, but I get the feeling that no more big surprises are going to be coming our way in the form of new tracks :grumpy:

P.S with a little over a week to go, surely more reviews and news should be out there by now!

Awaji Islander has said it's refering to Time attacks not the total number of tracks. The total will be over 50 including variations, my guess is 65 including the variations in one direction and then all the reverse tracks on top of that bringing the total to aroud the 100 mark.

for what it's worth...I noticed on amazon.com some specs about the 2 different guides prima is making, the standard roughly $20 version is 352 pages and the book: "GT 4: driving the game" which will sell for $35 is a mere 176 pages. These numbers were confirmed on powells.com (another bookstore), so the real question is what would be the difference? Could the $35 guide have a dvd or something to justify the extra cost?

Order 1 : GT4 bible - "Order shipped" :)
Hey, tre, have you received your bible ? What do you think about it ? Is it interesting ? :)

Yes I have recived my "Bible". If I had been able to read japanese it would be very interesting, as it is now it's more of a curiosity with pretty pictures. "The Bible" is the same as "The offical winners guide" that came out for GT3. It contains a lot of driving tips, has an in-depth look at Photo Mode and more. It also lists all the tracks with maps and data for each track, and it also has a lot of the cars with data. All with lots of nice pictures. I really hope that they translate it to english and release it in Europe when GT4 comes out over here. 👍

PS. The bible" is almost twice as expensive at Play-Asia as it is on Amazon.co.jp. But then again, it's a LOT easier to order at Play-Asia. ;)
