GT4 Will be the PremierGame4 PS3?

Ok, I am looking beyond the current release for the GT4 game now. We all remember that GT3 was the main feature game for the Playstation2 upon it's release.

Now because that GT4 took so long to build, one would assume that the GT4 game is also being prepped up to be once again the selling game for the PS3? Would this not make sense?...

The PS3 will be released in early 2006 which only gives the Gran Turismo guys 1 full year to come up with an entirely new game...which I think is not doable.

I think that we will see the same GT4 game also being released for the PS3 with the addition of a few extra cars but essentially the game will be the same + souped up PS3 engine.

What do you guys make of all this?

What I am trying to say is that GT4 will also be available on the PS3 as soon as the PS3 gets released 12 months later in its exact form (+a few more cars)...but with the much more powerful chipset of the PS3.

Hey lighten up guys, sometimes replies to newbies are a little offensive!

I don't want to get slated here, but I think sometimes these attacks are a little out of turn and reek a little of elitism!

I think STI-Jaguar raises an interesting point personally. Remember that GT3 was originally going to be GT2000 and was essentially going to be an updated GT2 for the PS2. PD then changed their minds and created a whole new game - hence GT3.

It is plausible that PD could consider an enhanced GT4 for the release of the PS3, rather than wait until the console is already 1 to 2 years old before having its own GT game.

Can't us half-dead people WAIT for GT4 to come out then wait until further judgment before calling GT5 the second coming of GT4?

I don't get the title very well, nor do I not get this. I'm not trying to follow the hater bandwagon, I'm just not getting the point here. I don't think it's going to happen, STi.

As far as the PS3 goes, I read about the XBOX online. Found out it doesn't need a Memory Card, has a seperate CD-Rom drive (if I'm not mistaken), and stuff like that. PS3 will have to truly take the fight to the XBOX to make it a success. So it's time for a quick poll while I'm watching this replayed rugby game between New Zealand and Australia (All-Blacks vs. Wallabies).

But does it have its own fully 3D spectators which live out their own lives, even when your computer is switched off? ;)

Surprisingly you don't see what PD is doing.

2 games per PS platform.
 
GT5 will more than probably be in development or at least PD will be testing some beta dev kit. As for GT4 on both machines maybe you'll get a surprise when GT4 is put in a PS3. :dopey: (just a thought)

As a side note though, not many people would want the same game with souped up visuals.

want GT4 on the PS3, you gotta wait 5-6 years more...
 
If they do release a game when the PS3 is released I believe it will be more along the lines of GT:C. Then 6 months/a year later GT5 will be realeased. At teh mention of this I bet most the Americans are thinking, if they do do that (which I doubt) they had better release it in the US..or else.
As a further note...GT4 isn't even out yet, so stop looking so far into the future.

PD will not rush a GT game, if they don't have a new GT ready for the PS3's launch there won't be a GT game at the PS3's launch. Personally I think that given the ammount of effort PD put into making the GT games we won't see GT5 for 2 or 3 years.

Every heard of the PSP? The gamebody like video game system?

Thats what Sony is concentrated on now, and will be on for a few years.

Next year, the PS3 is supposed to be unvealed at E3, and that don't make its gonna come out right after that. they will have to do more work to make sure its not bugged.
 
If PS3 is unveiled at next years E3 then you probably looking at a christmas 2006 launch, I doubt the PSP would have any impact on Sony's plans for the PS3.

Why would they put 1 year into a system? It'll be like more than 2-3 years.
 
I thought the PSP had the same kinda spec as the PS2 and that GT4 for the PS2 would more than likely be a port of GT4 for PS2. Might be wrong though?

They are working on the PS3 now, Sony's top developers have already got some PS3 development kit's for launch titles and to get used to the system which I presume will be updated closer to launch. I would hazzard a guess that Sony has been developing the PS3 for 3 years now, the initial concept will have been concieved much earlier than that.

Ywp GT4 will be pretty much the same on the PS2 and PSP.
 
If PD comes out with a game for ps3, it probably won't be another GT4, but yet the GT5. And I don't care if it takes them 8 years, I'll probably still be playing my gt4. ;)
 
PSP used the UMD (iniversal media disc) which contains a max of 1.8gigs of data.
Probably most games will not be a "port" of the PS2 versions.
It would take a lot of work to fit all of GT4 onto that lil' disc.
On the other hand, I have read some things that say the processor in the PSP
is set up in a much more efficient manner than the PS2, and of course, it runs at
a much smaller resolution.
PD has stated that GT4 will be the last GT game for PS2.
 
The game will be the same but everything will be less, lower res, lower poly count ect, theres no need for it to be higher than what the PSP can display and less polys on a smaller screen looks just as good. The PSP probably can read data thats compressed in different ways to the PS2.
