Ah, challenging. I'm going to have to stop kerbhopping. First outing was not big nor clever, it took me four or five laps to stay in front of the level 4 B-Spec ghost I set up.

La Sarthe is not one I play with much unless I have to, I suppose it's about time I gave it some proper attention. Strange since I went there every year from '94 to '98 (or more? I forget.)

Which splits do we discuss?

For my (not quite clean) first outing, my 'odds' are:
T1: 0:33.054
T3: 1:41.720
T5: 2:38.400

Bob is on holiday. He stole the Z4 gearknob.

love it - love it - love it!
great this one isnt in me hollies which'll start in 2 weeks time.
first t's and new luxy will be up soon.

👍 👍 👍

Ran a few laps; gears at 320 - just long enough to keep off the rev limiter

T1 32.647
T3 1:40.904
T5 2:36.941

I like the combo 👍
Div 2 G25
T1 34.575
T3 1.44.922
T5 2.41.930

AMG.

First nice full clean lap, I'd say at about 15 laps total so far. What AMG said: 👍

T1: 0:32.300
T3: 1:39.801
T5: 2:35.823

Derek Bell is right, the Porsche Curves are 🤬 scary.

Have just recently acquired a spanking new DFP after years of using the old pad. Still getting used to it. I too agree with AMG, nice combination this week. 👍
First few runs.

T1 - 32:685
T3 - 1:40:434
T5 - 2:36:713
( DFP )

Sjaak,
1 There's a small red piece of tarmac on the left hand side just after T1 (no rumbles present) as you set up the car for the 2 right-handers leading up to the straight, do you consider that track or not ?
2. Is cutting (I mean really cutting) a corner BEFORE the timer starts on your lap considered dirty?

In 200 point racing anything goes to make up time
Just checking with you as I'm a complete newb to WRS and I want to be sure as hell that I don't mess up any replays I might have to send in. I could not stand the shame.
Guys, I'm not trying to cut corners here, just want to make sure I abide by the unwritten rules too..... which is why I'm asking in public.

I havent had a good look at this yet, been kinda busy today, but i can answer your questions in the spirit of the rules AMG, if i may be so bold... obviously sjaak has final say..

1. Better to keep two wheels inside the white line, to show respect, but as long as you dont hit the wall, you are clean.

2. You can do what you like up until the line in any lap as long as its not the one you are submitting, however, in the spirit of the rules, and so as to avoid the wrath of Kent, i would take the correct racing line across the chicane, thus keeping everybody happy and your conscience clear.

Ill take a look at this very soon, hope to be racing a lot this week...

We'll see though.

Nice to see you here Rob, keep those hands steady on the straight.

:irked:👍

first clean lap finished in 33.552 - 1.42.378 - 2.39.465

leaderboard updated (to the new chaps - that's what LU means LOL) up to post 17.

to AMG. about cutting the chicane before the s/f line:
when we did the very special le mans race a long time ago during the reign of good old cyril/flatout/tedehur, this matter was brought up as well. it took a long list of postings, but at the end of the discussion it was concluded that anything happening before the start of the timer is entirely up to you. but i agree with VEXD that in the spirit of the wrs rulebook it would be straightforward to apply the race rules there too.

Here's what I have after 30 min of being mindful of the curbs. Lost at least 3/10ths right before T3, so improvements to come:

31.535
1'37.192
2'32.550

Thx for the advice, will verify with Sjaak tonight.
Nice to see you here Rob, keep those hands steady on the straight.
:irked:👍

No probs with that anymore ;) , very recently switched to 900 degrees and MT will follow soon after that.:scared: :)

Another few runs last night. Good fun this one.:)

T1 - 32.263
T3 - 1.39.862
T5 - 2.35.436

Using a DFP.

LU up to post 25

First splits for me...
0'32.928
1'40.796
2'26.544
i take it your 26 is a typo that should read 36, otherwise you should have obtained harry potter's magic wand to magicize 10 seconds anywhere between t3 and s/f, so that's what i made of it in the leaderboard :)
(i know you're good and you're div2 material but this'd make you div0 fabric)

Done a couple of test laps to see what it was like.

T1 33.951
T3 1'42.907
T5 2'39.213

A bit slow for now.
I'll get a good session in tomorrow. :)

Edit: New Updated Splits!

Only the T Splits are allowed, NOT the final time unless stated in RARE cases by the admin Sjaak 👍 Also read the rules carefully about keeping atleast 2 tires on the track at all times, you may need to get an ARMax disc to verify your times, fyi.

Ok im gonna keep to the spirt of the WRS and not cut the chicane before the start but i have done it on my first test laps with a T5 of 2''32.6## dirty lap thou just :(. Anyway i feel dirty so im off to try some more ;)

Splits from my second session. Great combo and one of my favorite tracks.

T1 - 32.773
T3 - 1:39.227
T5 - 2:35.573

I may not have another chance at this one until late Sunday.

Trip to Vegas this weekend.

I hope these hold up!

Tired of playing second fiddle to DJ Baker. :)

Nice catch Big. Yep, should have been 2'36.544.

Looks like I'll need at least a little bit of that magic you mentioned to catch EDK.

Knocked several secs off my final lap time after my latest session.
Still a fair bit of room to improve and still plenty of time to go. ;)

T1 - 33.206
T3 - 1'41.049
T5 - 2'37.818

Well done Sjaak on this weeks combo. 👍
Plenty of fast fun. :)
