Hey 2078TM, any similarities between your Mini and the game Mini. After driving the Mini in the WRS for a week, I thought you might have something to say about that.

I have yet to take my car to a track day so I have never driven it at track speeds to get a sense of how it handles at the absolute limit. And no matter how aggressively I may drive on the street it is never at 10/10ths. Having said that, however, the game does come quite close, turn-in feels about right but the front plows too much in sustained turns - even when driven at 85%. In real life the car is very neutral, and the tail will come out except at full throttle in one of the lower gears (this, at least, is the case for my 2002, I believe that MINI made some changes around 2004 to make the car less prone to oversteer). In high speed turns (on or off ramps) mashing the gas will produce some understeer but no more than some rear-drivers.
Compared to my first Mini (a 1965 1275 Austin Cooper S) it feels quite similar despite the difference in power, weight and additional 40 years of automotive development.
 
It's been a few years (many, many, many years ... sigh ...) but I actually learned to drive in a Mini (of sorts). It was a 1968 Australian Mini Moke similar to the one pictured below. Not exactly the way to learn performance driving, anything much over 80 (km/h) was bloody scary.

Hi Sphinx, I just want to clear up something with the Gold runs for this week. I know its a bit late, but do we need replays for the combined laps only or do we want to see single lap Gold runs also? Bill (2078TM) has a Gold single lap time. If needed I'm sure he can post it to be checked, though maybe not today. I believe the NTSC are checked otherwise. At Motegi we ran into this question also. I think there was 26 Golds that week.

Looks like CMir, OnlyMe and SuperT need to be checked as MrP forgot to sub and hsh drove the yellow Mini.
 
We just need to check the golds from the combined results. Any other gold that's displayed in the results thread is just there purely out of interest and therefore has no bearing on the official results.

In case there is any confusion. I have already allowed hsh's submission even though it was in Yellow.
