Week 175 Race Specifics:

All hard underground is track and good luck !;)

Standard Clean OLR Rules:

  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • no contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • no hybrids
  • no cheating of any kind
  • nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • save your replay ('Save Ghost Replay' icon)

Submission:
All submissions must be sent by PM to me

  • you can submit only once per race
  • please include in your submission PM your division, name and final lap time
  • deadline is Monday 1 September 6 pm GMT
  • if you are unsure of the deadline try this site

Time verification:
Save your replay and keep it at least a full week after the time has been submitted:

  • all gold times each week will be required to submit a replay for verification
  • any submitted time is subject to a time verification request
  • when a time verification has been requested, the concerned racer must provide a replay before the next race deadline
  • failure to do so will result in the removal of the unverified submission from WRS results
  • video replays are not accepted, only .max, .xps or .sps files can be verified

Some racer on slicks @ El Capitan ... didn't know the mods could read minds or tap into dreams. All I can say is all right !

EDIT after a few first reconaissance laps all I can say now is: scary ! I never knew this car very well, if it's a car you can call it :scared: without TCS I don't even dare to bring it out.
Try to listen to its evil noise when idle ... evil indeed.

Sadly enough, I won't be competing this week. Just a lack of funds (only 500k left, which is not quite enough to buy the Panoz. I do have enough credits (and maybe even the car) on my PS2 memory card, but if I do get gold, I don't have the means (like a MaxDrive) to prove my effort.

But maybe there is a way to share savegames (like for GT5p) for PS2 games on a PS3...
Anyone? :)

Almost an hour of time so far
I started with the Chapparel replay and by lap 4 passed it
I used 350 top speed, 330 would be better but the wheel spin is a bit much for my first session .
It's not too scary. :scared::)

Running this and the Chaparral is sort of like week 147, with the 2 different cars at Mid-Field. 2 Similar cars in terms of PTW, with totally different handling characteristics. Should get interesting as the week goes on.

Thanx again for the tip Sjaak. I created a new virtual PS2 memory card on the PS3 (so I don't lose my own efforts) and uploaded that GT4 save game you gave the link for. I now have 4,5x1018 credits. That must be more than there are stars in the heavens. :crazy:

Needless to say, I just bought myself the Panoz and am ready to rock-n-roll. :dopey:

I'm using all aids (TC and ASM), otherwise I cannot control this car at all! :ouch:

That's why I stick to watching sports games nowadays instead of participating myself. It's a lot safer in front of the telly. :)

Please do try this weekend, there is indeed still one place left on the podium. The top one is taken though, sorry. :sly:
