well I had a little run again tonight, improved overall times by .2 of a second.. shocking section times though

L1: 34.196
L2: 27.139

well judging by my faster sector times, i could go probably .5 seconds faster then i can right now... but yeah as if thats gonna happen :(

Played with the settings today. First I tried several settings posted on the thread then I modified my own settings to set tranny at Auto 19 and aids at 2/2/2.
That helped a lot, my T times dropped from 34.4 to 34.0 for lap 1 and from 27.9 to 27.3 for lap 2.
Already cut my final time by 1 second.

Damn fasj, that's a sick second lap (if you finished it well). I just put up these splits:

Lap 1 - 32.681 👍 (saw 32.561)
Lap 2 - 26.371 :indiff: (saw 26.021)

I know they're slower than my last posted splits, about 0.4 combined :odd: . But I ran a first lap faster than the old by a good 0.15, and nearly equaled my old lap 2. I nailed the left after T1 and made it stick while being fast in the last turn on both laps, something I hadn't been doing. So I beat my old time by a good 0.1, which put me past my goal that I was looking to hit :D . Probably still have another 0.1-0.2 out there, but I think I'm gonna submit this. Good luck to you guys, hope to see you get that first lap down there fasj 👍 !

So that was the good news, bad news is I rolled passed the 700 day mark in all this running, and lost my chance at the black cars 🤬 !!!!! I had 60 days left and thought that was enough, went right past and didnt know it. Keep it in mind if anyone else is getting near there and wants those cars. Do they come up again :confused: ??

Yes the black cars come around. On day 1400. So you've got a ways to go!

Anyway I put up some better times today. These may be my final splits, we'll see how it goes.

Lap 1 T2: 33.512 :yuck:
Lap 2 T2: 26.527 :)

We'll see how it holds up. 👍

The 4 black cars can indeed be bought on any 100th week :
Week 100 : days 694 to 700
Week 200 : days 1394 to 1400
Week 300 : days 2094 to 2100
...

But make sure you have at least 8 or 9 million credits if you want to buy all 4 of them.

Thanks flat-out and jump_ace for the info. 100 WEEKS!!!!! :crazy: Well I guess that gives me plenty of time to catch up on my GT4 completion anyway, lol. I have about 3 million as it is, only wanted the 787B anyway, maybe the GT One too. Definitely would have sold off some of my cars that are easily attainable again. Thanks again :cheers:

well veil, i´m still a good and long 1´4 behind your time, so don´t worry ;)

today i might have another session, because i left 0´8 somewhere... but if i don´t get better, that´s ok, because i already got what i was looking for :dopey:

but with this settings i can consistently hit 25´s now, the car just feels less shaky... ok, it doesn´t really explore 100% of the potential of the car, but it makes you reach the limit easier... finishing my session last night, i had a 32´8 T1, my best with the TCS off... that would be already 0´6 of my time, so like almost everyweek, i believe my top time will come monday night 👍

i really feel more comfortable to tweak the settings after this week... running in practice with the ghost, i found that a softer spring rate in the back would make the car more stable, you don´t loose control in turns... the dampers provide enough stability to make turns, while not affecting top speed... a strong spring (20/20) might make a better car to a track like autumn ring, but not for HSR... with 14 and 10.5 i can hit 405 km/h before my first brake... well, hope i can get a good 90 minutes or so today...

just bringing that up again... tomorrow we might have less than 30 times in the results... i don´t know if its BC5, or a hard combo... but that´s just a shame... well, congrats to those who ran 👍

I will try out your settings tho. I believe in a 31.9 in T1 of first lap and a 25.2 in second lap, lets see what i can get today. 👍

Time submitted, for the first time in months.

T1 lap 1 : 33.736 (seen 33.675)
T1 lap 2 : 27.078 (seen 26.7xx)

If my final sectors are not too bad, I shouldn't be last in my div.
But anyway, since the first attempt I improved my race time by 16 sec :eek: and I'm 1.5 sec below my goal. So if I'm last, it'll be a honourable and satisfying last position. :D

Main changes to my settings were :
LSD : 5/5/5
Tranny : auto 19
Aids : 2/2/2

See you at the finish line.

If you want to drive a 787B at any cost, just download a full game save (100% and all cars). That'll be easy then to sell the car to your other mem card. (Er, that existed in GT3, I hope it still exists). If you're PAL and you're interested I can upload such a save.
And for those who think that it's called cheating, please I don't want to argue about this here. I'm using 2 saves on 2 different memcards : 1 with the full garage and 1 with my own game. My sig shows my real progress.

Finally, I noticed once or twice in this thread people blaming CFM for this week's combo (or else I misunderstood, that wouldn't be the first time. In that case, skip the rest of the post).
Personnally, I found the combo really appropriate to get my fingers working as a team again :D after so many weeks without OLRacing.
And there is one thing I learned during my year and a half running OLR events : never blame the steward for the combo. Perhaps the car or the track or the rules don't match your expectations or your likes ; in that case don't race. Perhaps the combo doesn't suit your driving and you won't be able to put good sectors together ; in that case don't submit.
But anyway, don't blame the steward.

Had another go. Bettered my overall time by 0.3", but still 0.2 away from my goal. I had my goal by 0.002" but hit an invisible wall outside the last corner! GRRR!!!

POSSIBLY one more run tonight after the BBQ. The car needed a chassis refresh at the end of the session and I'm really feeling pretty good about the launch now. I'm feeling that with a fresh chassis and a final oil change, I'll get to where I want to go. Sleep be damned! :^)

As for the choice of event, again, you can't please everyone all the time. Some are diggin' it, some just can't hang. I can't hang, however I'm still giving it my best. Not going to be a good showing, however I'm sure I'll learn something.

Thanks for the offer flat, but I DO CONSIDER THAT CHEATING. J/K, if I had another memory card I would have done that already ;) . But I want to keep my current game going. And I tried that with a friends memory card, but like you said you have to buy it, which I couldn't do at the time due to lack of funds. I could get a regular one now, but I want the black :dopey: . Besides, I have plenty of time to save up for it now.

but just out of my dislike out of the combo, i said i didnt like it in my books thats all...

Like MisterWeary, I didn't have much time to play this week but I had a go last night. I hope I end up with a respectable time. :)

I just realised that I had intended to fit the "rollcage" to see if it made the car better but I forgot....does anyone know if it makes a difference?

I found this car very uncomfortable to drive; it always seems to be riding on the bump stops. But it is certainly very quick.

I had a hunch, and turned down the FF on my DFP to mild in the options....I know, I know!!!

But guess what???

Suddenly the car stopped bucking around, would do 235mph before even twitching off the straight and narrow.......
You can still 'feel' the car thro the wheel, but it's more subtle

And it was faster in a straight line!!!

Try it, please.
Either I'm right, or I'm going nuts! But it completely transforms the car's behaviour at 225mph and above!

The steering wheel's force-feedback was causing the wobble, not the car!
DS2 user's will rule this week!

Doesn't mean i'm any faster round a lap, now all my breaking points are wrong, all the points in the lap i knew it would start to break-away and counter-steering was needed are different. Bugger!

Never mind, I think I sub-consciously need an excuse for my lack of speed this week, again!

I am going to give this race one last go in a few minutes.
Then submit and hope for the best :D

I am half a second (give or take) away from my goal, but I just don't think I can't take anymore of the 88C-V or the High Speed Ring.

This was a fun combo and I really enjoyed it, but when you are pushing it too much, the fun turns into frustration and that's the hint you need to stop.

I am already to that point, but one last session won't hurt me too bad ;)

No, you're not crazy. I unplug the FF on my wheel routinely. Shut it off completely. Can't stand fighting it 👎 . Makes it so much easier to drive. Its such a bad approximation anyway (there's no "dead-zone" in real life), the wheel shouldn't bounce around at center, especially in the fast cars when you get over 200 mph. It's not even close to the real thing IMO, so why bother getting tired using it. Not that I've done 200 mph, but half way there is close enough :sly: .

I was hoping to put some more time in tonight, but seeing as I've had a few beers while watching the FSU/UM game, I don't think I could do any better. I don't like the combo this week, and don't blame CFM at all. There's going to be weeks that suit me (like Wk 19 at Laguna Seca) and weeks that I dislike. My time this week is very abysmal, but I just don't feel comfortable in the car....so I'm submitting my time:

L1: 33.089
L2: 26.824

Board updated for the last time this week.

I'm going to submit in a moment ... not sure if I'll have a last stab at this or not ... Not happy overall ... I only raced twice and didn't put in as much time as I'd like, but this is largely down to Brad and his friend hogging GT4 for 12 hrs yesterday 🤬

Good to be racing again, though.
 
GTg take some runs on Fasj settings, maybe there is some magics on these settings that i didn´t know. But anyway, im keen to break this second barrier with either a kick or a punch. ;)

I really didn't even bother with this one. I think I ran about 30 mins this morning with the standard car, no settings tweak. I just wanted a time to submit I suppose.

Last session of the week paid off for me. Smashed my goal by quite a bit, though still not fast enough to podium I'll wager. Not gonna embarass myself though! :^)

That's the first thing I did this week. Didn't even TRY to run with full FF. I don't think that DS2 will ever rule though! Just try to launch hard without TC with the DS2. I finally mastered (or so I felt) the launch with the DFP and it's amazing! :^)

by the way things are going lately

holl01 has masterd the ds2

and there are times that a DFP will never reach

and thank god we dont have to touch the minolta again!!! haha poor veil~ =P
 
Submitted my time. It's hopeless. I think I'll be right down the bottom of D2 if not D3.

I only ran 7 laps for the whole week.....I thought about not submitting, but thought. "Hell, who cares....."
