Sweet! Thanks Mister! Now I'll say that I'm done for this week. Tried out Duck and Holl's settings a bit, toyed with them a bit, and what not, but I'm pretty well done with this week unless I want to nitpick, and let me say, there is definitely room to nitpick. While messing around tonight, I noticed I easily enough gained and passed myself on the way to the finish line... But making everything clean, and fast at the same time, will be time consuming, and I just don't have it in me right now. Maybe tomorrow night? Maybe not.

A possible off at the chicane before T1 though. In some photomode shots I am on track, in others it seems I could be off. Just for fun I advanced the replay just a little and went into photomode again. This time I was easily on the rumbles, but for some reason some side photo's show me as being off. Photomode is inconsistent...

That happens sometimes indeed. It seems that when looking in photomode from a side camera, the game renders the wheel as a simple disc without width, which of course doesn't happen from the cameras behind or in front of the car.

Well I hope you finished strong KLR...I know you got me at T2 but my finish may just reel ya in :sly:

That's good news then since from the front of the car (or a top view) it shows that I have atleast two tires on the rumbles in the problem area. Thank you for your reply flat-out.

Time submitted 👍

Managed a slight improvement today, thats about the best I can do
this week.

Good luck all see ya at the finish line :)

9 submissions so far, and the times closer than usual. It seems that every tenth will be worth fighting for this week.

seems we have a lot of participants this week... compared to some of the previous ones...

on a side note the leaderboard appears to be up again, just needs updating...

Your finish will definitely reel mine in... When I sat down to it yesterday for a few laps, I passed myself there with a T2 that was I think more than a tenth slower... At LEAST more than a tenth. So, I may sit down tonight for some more... :sly:

Looks like I'll be lucky to get a podium time in D2 this week... Still no 1'00.xxx at T2 with little likelyhood of any sort of extended session tonight.

Oh well...

-SHig

Submitted too, after having discarded my 2 fastest laps because they were doubtful (concrete slab before T1 for the first one, final lefthander for the other). I finally submitted a lap which is 0.6 slower than my fastest one :(

12 submissions so far (3 div1, 4 div2, 5 div3), and only 2 seconds between top time and time #9. (Smallest time between 2 consecutive times : 0.017 sec).

Hmmm.....maybe I should have kept my big mouth shut :nervous: now I may have to try and find an extra tenth or two...this could finally be my chance at a div win

well an even more reliable way to check is to just listen for the rumble sound (The collision engine shouldnt lie, even if the gfx engine does :sly: )

i got a 28.4 / 1'00.4 and beat my old time just.

Now if I can only lower my T1 (which ive seen 27.9) i should get my goal 👍

It looks like I am going to be in last place this week. I finally got the car sort of dialed in. I eliminated the lift-throttle oversteer by giving the rear a -1 toe. I tried some other stuff and just did that as a "well it can't hurt to try it" and it seemed to tighten the car up a lot. I may be slowing me down elsewhere, but at least I am not constantly fighting for control as I lift the throttle heading toward the slight left (concrete corner) before the right into T1. Sorry this is coming too late to for many of you to try yourselves, and again, it may be slowing me elsewhere.

My biggest problem now is setting up for the left hander just before you go uphill toward T2. I either go too wide into the grass before it, or swing out too wide toward the rock wall on the exit.

The left hander after T2 could use some work to. I think I am slowing down too much (slight brakes, plus downshift to 4th) and then wait for the car to settle before getting on the throttle again. Everytime I get it right, it feels like I could have taken it a lot faster. Then again about half of the time I get it wrong and am fighting the steering wheel to keep it straight, and even if I do keep it on the track I loose a lot of time.

I am going to try once more, but here are my best clean times so far:

T1: 29.942 (finally got below 30)
T2:1'04.541 (wanted to get down to 1'02.xxx, but I guess it wasn't ment to be)

I am using a '01 type V with over 30K kilometers on it.

You can still have the rumbles sound with one tire on the curbs though...

Hey quick? can we use the 6.2 mile/10km cars or no?
I have one at 281 hp, and I was wondering if i could use it or not????
Sorry I read thru a bunch of pages, but no answer did i see :)

Hey SHigSpeed, how are your monkeys doing tonight, in preparation for the last session?

My monkeys are still quite rusty, as this is my first race in a while.

I am going to give them one last go in a few minutes.

Well... I had time after I posted that earlier today, and after about an hour of trying, and messing more with settings and crap, I managed one unmanageable(for me) T1 of 28.197 or something, followed by a T2 of 1'00.427 or so, and then a clipped final corner, for a finish that was dirty and only .15 faster than my fastest clean lap. And, other than that one fluke T1, I was off the ball, and came up with nothing. Now, I'm stuck at my parent's house watching my little bro for a couple of hours. I'm not going to have another go at it, so you may have your chance. But! Don't get your hopes up, because it sucks when people who've only been lurking come in and sneak your supposed win... Been there, done that. Good luck though!

Curtis, I'll be back at my around 9 tonight or so, if you haven't found anyone by then, I can have a look see.

Yeah you're right I won't get my hopes up too far but I'll secretly be crossing my fingers :) I'm submitting now

oh true.

...:dunce:

but on a different note i have the following problem, and maybe someone can help me out

I seem to get nerveous whenever i beat my own time, panic, and screw up.

for example... i beat my clean T1 28.479 with 28.197, then messed up a bit (:nervous: ), but still managed to get t2 of 1.00.433 over my 1.00.714 (:nervous::nervous:) and the very last corner i paniced and ...:scared: BAM right into the wall :banghead: !

do any of you get that, or am i just insane? :boggled: do you guys turn off the ghost, listen to music or what would you suggest?

only chase your ghost when you know your 1-2 car lengths behind
then you can use him to notice where you can gain time - without overpushing

turn off the ghost when you come back to the final straight, and start your new lap

Been there, done that. I have been spending the last hour and a half (or so) trying to beat my old lap, 45 minutes of which were spent throwing the remote around, because I kept getting 0.2-0.3 better at T2, but could not finish a lap.

Finally, after what seemed an endless chase I managed to beat my old time, by almost half a second :D

Seems like my monkeys have been working good, tonight, after all.

T1: 0'28.336 (seen 0'28.1xx)
T2: 1'00.511 (seen 1'00.4xx)

T2 is better by 0.272, but my final lap time is better by almost half a second, so I think I did the section T2-F better than any other laps I have done so far.

I am quite satisfied with it, even if I feel there are still 0.2-0.3 in it, for me... But I am calling it done.

By the way, I started with Dan's setup (holl01), but then I modified it a bit for my driving style. Here it is, if anyone is interested:

Racing Suspension

8.7/6.5
100/110
4/5

2.0/1.0

For me at least, and I'm sure for many others, what you described is totally normal in the WRS , believe it's called neurosisrookieitis. The only cure I know is not to race:), no really, I've gone as far as turning off the ghost and securing a piece of cardboard over the race position section of the screen. The seasoned drivers (or aliens) have obviously overcome this rookie behavior as have most professional drivers in RL....you would hope.

hehe, thanks, i am in Div 2 though, but i submitted my time already, and it was the one i described already, so although i wish my other lap was clean, unfortunately ive run out of time to try and beat it. Also glad to know that im not insane, even tho i still dont understand why i get that condition, ive been playing hardcore since GT1... maybe its the competition  anyways, wish u all best of luck in the final remaining hours

28.01

I cannot improve on the 1st sector but I know there is about 0.3 in the 2nd one.

i have a question for you guys...
and i wonder how many agree with me... kk listen up

-when exiting from slower corners, do you think we should be able to floor the throttle without getting any power sliding action?
=this is what happens when racing with Sports Softs, or those god damn Super Softs

-now, for real racing..... where you need to limit the power you put down coming out of corners... or else you will spin it with full throttle exiting the corner
=N tyres... or Mediums and under for the race tires

tell me what you guys think is better?
