holl01had a run and improved my overall time by .400 secs. heres the progress:
lap1 T1 30.609 ------> 30.886
T2 1'00.530 -----> 1'00.344
lap2 T1 23.967 ------> 23.847 (the first corner i had to view in photomode, 1 and a bit tyres where touching, the right rear being the close one, it was just touching the white line)
T2 53.668 ------> 53.423
lap3 T1 23.983 ------> 23.971
T2 53.480 ------> 53.478
Still using the DS2 btw.
AlpineOr, does the difficulty setting have to be -10? CFM can you clarify this for me?
CFMFor this week, keep it at -10, since everyone has been using this since the start of the week. Next time I'll make it so that you can set it at whatever you like.
KolyanaI freaking like this combo ... I've only gone around about 5 times, but my T's are damned competitive ... YAY!!!!
31.951 - 103.016
24.886 - 55.668
24.924 - 55.476
I really think that I can hack .5 off my T1 and maybe as much as a second off my T2 with some practice (it's currently my weakest T, I have no idea what I'm doing)
I think it's a half decent start, tho

I hope your not rightSmall_Fryzi believe it is, your on that cobblestone stuff, only 1 tires is on rumble strip. Thus you have 3 tires off.
ROB 256RI hope your not rightI mean i can see why the cobblestones on the inside of turn one aren't classed as part of the track, because they are a seperate row behind the rumble strip, but the area i am on about is a row connected to the rumble strip which is why i think it should be Ok?

Yes, but nobody has brought up the legality of the cobblestones on this particular corner. They are positioned totally differently to the ones commented on in previous posts and as such i think they deserve a seperate evaluation from CFM. If i'm wrong about this i apologise in advance.NuvolariThought we cleared all that up with the combination of post #17, #87, #88, and one or two after that.
You must have at least two tires inside (toward the asphalt) of the absolute outermost part of the red and white curbing, CFM.
And clearly your photo shows that you have less than two tires on the legal surface.

GTmaniacThat's ilegal:
"If there are no curbs limiting the track, the white borderline represents the limits of the track. "
The Aloha branch of division 3 WRS racers spent a bit last night looking at replays from week 3, specifically with this white line interpretation in mind. I will have pictures to back up my statements later this evening, but I had problems getting them off the PS2 (what the heck do I do with a .max file that AR MAX software copied a GT4 photo data from my memory card to its Max Drive?).
We saw several instances of cars being completely (all 4 fours a couple of feet) OUTSIDE the white lines where there are no rumble strips. I read the above statement as this being illegal driving. So what is the scoop on this?

Since the three of us are in Div 3, we were curious how the heck the division 1 times were possible (magic, I'm thinking). hot604boi (or something) and CFM were the fastest NTSC replays I found, so I grabbed those. In two instances hot604boi is completely outside the white line, and in one instance CFM appears to be as well (although we didn't look as closely at that one).
The first problem area is between the two left handers after the T1 split, with the large concrete runoff area outside the white line. It makes the second full throttle left turn much quicker to go outside the line. The second spot is after the 270 deg. left turn. The rumble strip ends at one point, leaving bare concrete outside the while line before the grass and rumble strip pick up again. Again, going completely outside the white line allows for a faster exit from the 270 deg. turn.
Both JMitch17 and I threw away faster laps than we finally claimed because we were outside the white line thinking that was illegal territory. So before we spend too much time on week 4, I'd like to get the official take on the legality of the "white line".
I'll post the pictures I took from the replays as soon as I figure out how to get the picture data from the .max file on my MAX drive.
We're not trying to pick at others fast times, just to understand what is allowable and not so we can either take advantage of places where we're being overly conservative or continute to take tighter corners because the rules mandate such.
Thanks.
Small_Fryzthat was allowable because it was tarmac.
in deepforest you are allowed to go over the white line on the pit straight as its tarmac (between left wall and left white line). Im sorry you chucked away faster times but it was discused in week3 that the area between those 2 left handers after T1 was allowed. Pretty much if its tarmac, you can run on it, is normally the rule, unless stated otherwise. Concrete and panted areas (like on le sarthe) should always be clarifed, but if its normaly tarmac then 99 / 100 its fine.
LoveMyMiataWhat's the difference between tarmac and concrete?
So the area outside the white line after the 270 turn was ok also? Hmm, guess I'll have to spend more time reading the forums. So how do I get a job to get paid to read gtplanet.net and race during the week?![]()
circa86keep trying to get your T1 L1 time under 31. It is all about the car field for sure. I have managed a 30.6 through T1. You just have to throw the car perfectly through the first turn and you can pass all the cars before that third turn into the tunnel.
Under 31 is quite possible just keep trying different fields and different ways to go through turn 1.
ToffeI'm so stupid! I sat for 2 hours setting times and then discovered that you could lower the weight by 10 %!!! I had forgot that. It's just to start all over again...
