SphinxSo Nuvolari,
are you a happy chappy now that the penny has dropped or would you like clairification about picking ones nose during the race seeing that it's not clearly defined in the rules for this week?
You're overdoing it here, my friend.

Thanks for the kind wordsThe multi-lappers aren't so bad, just a few extra splits to type in. I'm a little worried about week 6 though ... 11 T-time on the 'Ring

KolyanaAhhh, it's about time you woke up my friend ... I was wondering where you were at
I saw a 24.4 T1 tonight, but I haven't broken into the 54's on T2 yet, so you might have me there ... yah bugger.
LoveMyMiataGTmaniacThat's ilegal:
"If there are no curbs limiting the track, the white borderline represents the limits of the track. "
The Aloha branch of division 3 WRS racers spent a bit last night looking at replays from week 3, specifically with this white line interpretation in mind. I will have pictures to back up my statements later this evening, but I had problems getting them off the PS2 (what the heck do I do with a .max file that AR MAX software copied a GT4 photo data from my memory card to its Max Drive?).
We saw several instances of cars being completely (all 4 fours a couple of feet) OUTSIDE the white lines where there are no rumble strips. I read the above statement as this being illegal driving. So what is the scoop on this?
Where did you get that quote, LMM, as I don't see it posted in the race rules for either week three or four? As far as week three goes, that issue was brought up twice about going past the white lines, and both times it was OK'ed by me. I wouldn't be driving out there if it wasn't legal and then go and post my run for everyone to see.Specificly, in the week 3 race thread the issue was mentioned and discussed in posts 93-95, 134, 203-206, and 213. So I thought it was pretty clear that you could run past the white lines. I even mentioned that you could go past the white lines ANYWHERE on the track as long as a sliver of two of your tires are still on the pavement, though it would be very difficult to do so.
As far as I'm concerned, I've never regarded the white lines to mean anything at all. Dirt/grass/sand, walls, and rumble strips (and Cobblestones now in GT4) are the only things to really worry about. Each track may have different rules, so read the posted rules for each week carefully and bring up any questions as soon as you have them. Obviously, on a track like Fuji 2005, the white lines WILL be a big part of the rules since the whole course is practically one big parking lot. But for the most part, historically in OLR and IMO also, white lines don't mean anything. Only keeping 2 tires on the pavement/rumbles at all times is the one paramount, gigantic, overriding rule, along with no wall contact. Any exceptions to this will be clarified per each track, such as inside the tunnels this week.
After some thought I have decided that cobblestones will not be considered part of the track, no matter where they are located. So Rob256R, I have to say the pics you posted indicate a rule violation. Sorry mate.![]()

LoveMyMiataSomething about driving outside white lines being illegal
