I did the race today with the right HP, and I took 5sec's off my total time:).
I want about 1.2 more and I will be happy.

As I said earlier, WRS should be made a legal requirement.

Legal requirement: Everyone above the age of X, who seems fit and managed to complete the licence-tests, is bound by law to compete in the WRS, at least once in every three weeks.

Look carefully next time you crash in this wall : there must be tons of debris from the numerous cars I've crashed here. :)

Is it still Yellow? I thought my Amuse already lost the whole Nurb' Blue paintjob on it...
 
just came back from 3 lovely weeks in france. i waved but neither cyril nor laurent waved back ...
so i found cyril finally has listened to my prayers and programmed a wrs week in my all time favorite track of the lot: el capitan. so far i didn't like reverse tho. but then i hopped in the amuse and it all changed after a few goes. GREAT !!! the car is also a surprise. about the wing thing, i know now you cannot change the wing or its attributes 'cos it must be full on. otherwise the car could not stick to the road that good.

my settings: 320/300hp, tranny trick final 4.111 (tops 237), height 70/80, springs 91/83, shocks 3-4-4-5, no lsd, camber/toe default, stabs 1/1, brakes 5/7.

above times are my first clean go so lots to gain the coming days. my race was a 100 pts one with 3 rufs that i passed cleanly after the second curve. already scored a 113 pts race easily but not clean.

still havent found the forbidden concrete slab cyril is talking about ...

i tried to upgrade the car to na2 (hope for better engine characteristics) and stay in the 320/300 range by letting bob run the test course overnight for 5000 kms. with na2 and race exhaust but without the chip and with old oil it came to 320hp, but the replay gave ... 322 :sick:

After T2 there's first a right-hander then a double left-hander, at the exact spot where the dirt track of Cathedral Rocks Trail starts.
On the inside of this double left-hander there's a big concrete slab that you can't use to shortcut both apexes.

That's true : oil doesn't have any effect on the power displayed in the replay.

For once i think i have the fastest splits, then you post those above shockwave! Guess ill have to try again, thats all. I lost .4 in the first sector, so 1'16.9 should be possible 👍 Then i lost .2 in the t2-end sector. Dont ask about the last two laps, i get way too nervous after seeing my lap 1 time.

This is my first race back on the Board after dumping the data from my card. I am glad to be back and in the running!
 
I've only made a few runs, but this car is great! I'm starting to love S2000s, especially now that I'm harkening back to the Cote d'Azur run some time ago with the race version of the S2000.

I did nothing to the suspension except lower it to 65mm front and rear as wel as lower the dampes to setting 3. Gears are at auto 16. The line up I have so far has an RUF RGT in the rear, the Falken RX-7, the Spoon S2000, the Nismo Skyline R-tune R34, and at the front is a RUF CTR2. I'm ducking in between the RX-7 and S2000 at the start then shooting past them in the right sweeper when they hit the brakes. I'm staying in high 3rd gear for the next corner and getting right back in fourth for the left hander. The RUF stays ahead of me for the section until he slows for the right/left where I shoot right past him, too. I nudge on the brakes and cut right then turn left lightly. He's on my right when I pass him.

OK I've just about had it, whenever I am on a good T1 split that Eau Rouge type turn right before the T2 split kills me. The car which weighs as much as a (&^*ing feather flies. If I brake before the sequence I lose time if I dont its luck of the draw.

I'm really having a hard time with this one, its the only place where I'm in Trouble!!!! best T1 Lap1 split came to 41.308 only to have it screwed by T2 ugh. /RANT
 
I'm tapping the brakes just before the uphill section, pass it at about 150 km/h in 5th gear and put the gas back on top of the hill.

I know the feeling. I JUST ran the best splits yet, reaching as low as 33.2 for my T1 and a 1'11.1 for my T2 and just after the T2 on my last lap, I nudged a wall and spun out. :ouch: I've had no luck repeating that lap yet. Thanks to my uncanny ability to hit everything at the start.
 
Any tips on T2 cos i seem to be loosing a good second there.

I have a question about one of the rules, two wheels on the track at all times. Does this count say if you just a little (four wheels off the ground) at the top of the hill just before T2 in el capitan?

It's inside the course boundries so gettin airborne is fine. If you get airborne over a part of the course outside of the boundries--that is if your wheels would be considered out of the course even if they were on the ground--than it's illegal.

I'd suggest just barely tapping on the brakes a meter or two before hitting the crest of the hill and making sure you bring the car in tight towards the left side. You have to remember that past the crest the turn sharpens so you have to align yourself to THAT part of the corner, not the part up the hill.
 
The two wheels on the ground rules applies when all 4 wheels are in contact with the ground. When some wheels are above the ground, it's their vertical projection onto the track that matters.
The idea is that you don't shortcut or go off-track, not that you stay stuck to the tarmac.

That figures, for the week that everyone seems to absolutely love. I'm on vacation with no PS2. Not like I'm complaining or anything, it just seems like whenever I'm away, the best races are happeneing.

I mean I was out during the last race at Monaco, had to stop early at Suzuka, will maybe spend 15 minutes on this depending on when I get home Monday. And then, I won't be able to do the quali for the team race. Speaking of that, since I'm away, will it be possible for me to compete next week since I won't have a way to submit the quali?
 
If you're back on Monday you should be able to give it a quick go and submit for the team event. Or else you'll run it as an individual.

Ohh ok, I just wanted to make sure that I'd still be able to race, even if I didn't have the necessary stuff to have a partner. I guess I'll have a bit of stuff to do when I get home then, GT4 related..

Six gears is the way to go.... wow. I've made some definite improvements, but my start is a little awkward now. Nothing clean yet.
 
It took me 1h15 yesterday to run twice the 3 laps.
Most of the time I was touching an AI in the first turn, or crashing into the yellow wall before T1 or losing control in the double left after T2.
I hope tonight session will be better.

But good news for my mental health at least, im not bummed out since I'm seeing 41s regularly and the Eau Rouge problem has been solved, somewhat. I think im retiring my DS2 for the day, Ive just had about enough head aches.
