ummm TIP: Do not buy cats every time they lose power... reset your PS2 and make sure to set autosave to save everytime you switch cars... soo yeah there you go.

Ren-tech: For sector two, umm ok. the double right hander you want to brake just after the strips on the side starts, you want to turn in while braking, but dont go too far to the apex you wanna stay a bit on the outside for the first turn. I brake down to about 120-115 then back on the throttle and turn in to the apex of the second right hander, be careful not to get wheelspin there or youre pretty much screwed, if you hear your tires getting out of hand just adjust your throttle so you dont lose it.
next the sweeping left, this ones a little tough but one thing you dont want to do is slow down and coast. you want to go in brake and get on the throttle. so yeah thats sector two. I'd explain how i take that sweeping left... but i really dont know how to explain it.

Every time i drive this car im getting faster. Some times if i get wheel i kick it up a gear, then down quick depending on how high its reving and some times two gears.💡

Yeah i know it seems to be a strange one this week, the div's are all mixed up. like there is a div 3 driver more than a second faster than me???
 
Ok EvoSport went faster, hmm.......I guess I will go again. And how come
MINICOOPER120 is so fast:scared:, that just does not sound right:(.
 
To be honest, I genuinely hate this combination, hence I haven't posted new splits this week. 👎 .

For me, it's a love-hate relationship :lol:

I love the car, but hate the track (and think this car doesn't fit it). I can't improve my times, but continue racing it like an addict. Why? Dunno.

Oh, and Ben: your time with the Orange is pretty high... I can only get 1'39ers
 
Hmmm, I just dislike this Caterham, although I love Midfield.

I friggingly amazingly mindboggingly beat my time by a super-fast 0.030 seconds! Woohoo! After a whole two days of coming 0.2 behind my previous best, I beat it, finally.

0'44.808 (What's the deal with the funny splits?)

I can see that second lost in the double-right after T1, and maybe a 0.1 on the left-right sweepers before T1, but my T2-finish was on my absolute limit. Well, almost absolute... The hairpin was taken at a slow-ish 75KM/h, even though I normally manage a 80-85KM/h on second, with no spin or drift.

Judging from these splits, I'm currently loosing 1.5 seconds at T1 (on the best runs), and 3-4 seconds on T2. Amazing - on a double-right plus zig-zag-sweepers I loose less than on a double-right plus constant-radius super-sweeper of the same total lenght...

I'm almost giving up this week.

See i all most got me a 42 T2 and i was only using 5th and 6th gears and no hint of wheel spin:D:D

I'm excited. Yes, yes I am... It's been a damn month after all!!!

I just finished reading through everything, will come up with my own quickie setup, and have a go! I'll get in probably an hour or so tonight. I might be able to play some more tomorrow night after I look at some places to live.
 
Just want to confirm before I go any further... ALL track is legal, correct? As long as we have at at most two wheels on the grass, and nothing touching the walls we're good, correct?

I tried doing some laps with a custom suspension setup, tried another, and then decided to use the STANDARD suspension, not the race setup. Instantly picked up another 1.4 seconds off my time. My T2 is around a 43 flat now.

And man, this thing is NUTS! I've never driven something that just wants to take flight like this. Seriously, give me some downforce!

Nah Ben, I enjoy it! I may agree that this car wants to be driven on a super tight course with much less power, but in GT Mode, I'm not sure of another way to drive this car, other than maybe R3 tires instead of R2s... Even then, sticky tires are most certainly not going to keep the car on the ground.

I think that'll be it for tonight though, my head is hurting me a bit(I have a cold, :indiff:), and I'm satisfied with where I am for now.

Faster than I would've thought after the first 5 laps...!

I'm running standard suspension, a slightly taller than Auto 12 transmission, 4/3 brake balance just because, and a standard differential. Car's a bit twitchier than I'd like, but it works well enough, eh? :sly:

LOTS of time can be had by using fourth and the whole available track around the tight left after T2.

I think the rest of most of the available time is hidden in the turns right before the T1 and T2 marker. Still figuring out how fast I can take the fast chicane of sorts before T1, and then I'm still sawing my way around the sweeper before T2. Fun! 👍

Cyril, maybe this car can be used again in the not too distant future(less than a year, maybe like the F1 car?) although in Arcade mode with +0% power on a tighter, complex track. 👍

Not planned.
The Arcade Caterham probably has the worst gearbox in the game. Even the RX-8 has lovely short gears compared to it.
And being able to adjust the suspension is also almost compulsory.

So the car might be back, but still in GT Mode I think.
 
I admit my loss to MINICOOPER120 this week:(. There is no way I can run that fast with this car. I took of some more time but I can't get much more off. Here are my new T's.

I am going to run some more laps but most likely I will submit the time I have.

Aww, come on. Suzuka for this car is perfect... Couldn't you re-use it sometime on something more 7-compatible?
But the good thing about the Ham is, that with such a low weight, you can accellerate pretty quickly even in higher gears.

Incorrect. I ran it on R4s a while ago, it handles like some magically-glued Go-Kart. Seriously, the only thing that made it loose traction was bumps...


EDIT: And Rocko14(insert more numbers): You can still hope MINICOOPER doesn't have a maxdrive :p
