I just tried the Spec C for an instance and got a 1'14.6 T2, with some room for improvement left... Might be the fastest car after all. Will post my settings in a minute, TPapp.

I'll stick to the Evo though, I like that car more ;)

Edit: Here they are:

Brakes 8/7
Springs 7.0/7.6
Ride height 130/130
Damper b 6/8
Damper rb 8/8
Camber 1.2/2.0
Toe 0/0
Stabs 1/1

Gears
1: 2.969
2: 2.255
3: 1.801
4: 1.496
5: 1.278
6: 1.106
Final: 3.750
Auto 1

LSD: 5/10/5 front 5/24/10 rear

VCD: 34
Aids: off

No theories behind this, got the car driving well and fast with this, so might be worth posting then!

After spending a lot of time tuning I decided to change my driving rather than trying to change the car.
Running mid 1'16s with nearly stock Evo 8 RS

Yay! A week with a Subaru...
Ah...
I'm doing this week, that's for sure. Haven't had one clean lap yet I think, but managed a 33. I'm using a '95 in red, it's really fun but has steering problems. It's not so much understeer like you describe, but more of a soggyness, like it's slllippperrrry, and won't respond under brakes. I may try that Subaru Wagon, which I wanted to try, but I don't want to copy you guys, and I'm having fun with this one. I'll post real splits soon, as soon as I get a good clean run.

Go the wagon! It's a blast, once you've done a lap you can do the shopping and fit it all in the boot :sly:

Ok i just jumped in the Evo V111 MR and done this so far but there is time to be had still yet. The bus stop is killing me :(

T1: 31.580
T2: 1'16.229

Ayc 70
Brakes 6/6
diff 15/85
nothing else yet

Oh and one more thing, how do you turn off the sticks or can you pull them off cos they never stay in the middle. for example it brakes and im not touching them and steers on its own, Most annoying

Sorry Colb, got all the settings fiddled alreaady, I think I'll stick with my "Subaru IMPREZZA Sedan WRX STi Ver.II'95" in bright red, 344HP on replay, any higher (356 in settings is the next highest I can reach) brings me to 352 on Replay. Maybe when the oil get's bad I'll add it back to what would have been 356, and see if I can get it down there. I'll admit the wagon does look fun though, but I only see it in silver in the Used showroom, and silver doesn't compare to red, although if I had that tan up there...

Actually, I think besides Blue, all these subarus look great in black, if I got one it'd be that color for sure. Hmm, maybe I should get one. :trouble: (When I get my lisense)

Why do I ramble on about stuff so incredibly off topic?

Edit: Ren-Tec, I have that problem in photomode sometimes, I try to aim the picture and it moves to the left and right. Most of the time I just wiggle them arround until they stop, but I'll admit is is annoying. My steering wheel did something strange a minute ago, I think I was putting to much stress on the wheel (bad handling) and twice in the same lap it randomly shifted down. Luckily it was a bad lap, and I managed to get a grip on how to control the car without twisting the wheel to get it to move.

Look's like alot of fun this week. I was look forword to racing in a EVO but I messed my sholder when I crashed my dads quad. Sorry. I'll race next week.

I really feel bad, it's like I let some one down. Though I don't know who.:(

Second sesion of the day, I'm running a spec c 04' btw, similiar set to Hugo's except the rear springs are softer, like 6.2 and I jacked the rear up....

32.256
1.17.195

One more chance tomorrow evening and then I'm done, hoping for a mid 1.16.xxx that'll be good for me this week.

It's nice to final see you here arora:). You just wait, the more you race here the
better you will get:tup:. And that always a good thing. Well on to other things,
I tried this again tonite and I almost got a 1:15:7xx but just hit the wall at the
corner after T1, but I will try it again tomorrow and see how I do. And one more
thing, I'm coming for you Kyle:trouble:MAHAHAHAHA:lol:.

And one more
thing, I'm coming for you Kyle:trouble:MAHAHAHAHA:lol:.
Sorry man! I'm no longer there! Which car are you in?

I have a goal in mind, and I want to see just how close to it I can get. This is all out for me. I'm all in. I'm going all out. I think I may almost put in as much effort as I did for BC6, except only a few days worth, instead of a few weeks worth.

I will say this: my settings are NOTHING like Hugo's. His setup is too stiff, and too understeery for me. I like less differential strength, and almost no power going through the front tires. My springs and dampers are softer as well. And my camber is closer to the inverse of his...

Oh, and that I'm not using second gear(on custom gearing). I think that's about all the information I'll disclose this week... Sorry guys! See you all in the results! Good luck!!!

so i took up hugo's settings and slung around the evo 8 rs gsr.
a more different setup from andrew's is difficult to imagine.
maybe it works if you drift around the track? lots of oversteer and spinning wheels ... strange that kyle comments its understeery character :nervous:
so from the red hugo car back to the silver andrew evo. finding out that for checking out kyle's 84 lap i erased my 85 hotlap :scared: so i had to do something anyway ...

34.073 - 1.20.191

i might find a second or two but no more this week. city tracks are not my forte as i said.

Big, those settings are for the Subaru, if I'm not mistaken... 👍 I agree it wasn't too clear that they were,(or aren't?) in his post, but I think they were...

He posted setting for the Mitzi MR GSR a few pages back, too.

My comments on the setup: A bit too understeery under power, but lowering AYC and front diff a bit solved it. Hugo, how do you prevent those bounces on the uphill climb? I loose control there...

It works if you four-wheel-drift it, and use lots of smoothness. You have to beat the car, literally - but it gets you quick around the track.

Yeah, I guess they could be for the Evo. I just thought that since he didn't have AYC listed there that they were for the Suby. Who knows!

While doing laps, I was wondering why I wasn't getting as much wheelspin as usual, but didn't think of anything until I went in to change the gearing to get some more torque, and low and behold I was down 5hp! :)

AYC is there...

You're driving the Subie, right? I just came from school (Free math-hours rock!), and discovered my Mitzi, which was brand-new on tuesday, has 400KM on, with 360 on the garage...

The settings I posted on the previous page are for the Spec C. Looks clear to me in that post

I setup my 4WD cars for a high cornering speed and great turn in. If you think they're too understeery, feel free to adjust the settings or improve your driving lines and throttle control :p

And Metar, make sure you take the jumps in a straight line. I span out a few times there too when I was off my line :ouch:

Yes, I'm in the suby, and I was talking about the later settings he posted.

It's just confusing because you say you're in the Subaru, but then you mention you're going back in the Mitsu right after that, before you post the settings. Maybe say you're going back to the Mitsu after you post the settings? :)

And yeah, I definitely like a more waggy tail. My turn in is a good bit quicker than yours, but it gets the tail out at the same time. Your settings wouldn't allow very much if any tail out action. I'm not smooth enough to drive with those settings.

Also, Seattle in general loves soft suspension. I don't have much of any issue with bouncing off of those jumps. Sure I launch off of them, but when I land it's nicely absorbed, no continual bouncing. I can't remember if I had trouble with the "steps" with your settings or not.

In any case, I think I should've gone to bed an hour ago... Haven't gotten that fast, clean lap that I wanted to finish off the night with, and then when I checked the settings screen, I was down 7!!!hp. I think I'm right around 300 miles on this one. 👍

Definitely need to string something together though. My current fastest clean lap is actually a replay, not a ghost, as I didn't pass my ghost that I was chasing(dirty). I should have at least another .2-.3 in there. .5 more off is about where I want to be. So far my clean lap is .9 faster than my posted splits at the line.

I've managed to dial-in my setup now to being just right for me. :D
Not for everyone, just for me (as far as I can tell).

Using the Impreza C, I've managed to get a great balance.
Still not fast like the big boys but I'm getting my laps down.
I've seen 15.7 and look to capitalize on the consistant T1 under 31.9 (seen as low as 31.6).

Hope I can come back with updates of a clean fast lap,
Until then,
-

Here are the splits for my fastest time so far:

T1: 32.297
T2: 1:16.726

While these are still pretty slow they are a second faster than I was running. Big thanks to Hugo Boss and Angel Creator for helping me out with the settings this week. I've been tweaking your guys settings so let me know if you want the updated versions.

I did a few 31.9 T1's but still havent been able to go faster at T2 so I'll really hafta start practicing that second section.

I've seen some 1'15s but I end up messing up the last turn or doing it too slow.

I wouldn't mind another evo in the not too distant future, but fully done with a wing and at least medium race tires. With RSS tires and done up, I call the Evo the Grave Digger because it just digs into turns on the brakes and spins itself around. Can't do it that way with these tires, but with grip the car feels so much more insane.

I really don't want to have to take a different car but the fastest I've had is high 32s, like 32.988 or something. I don't think I can be competitive in this car, so I may have to choose something else.

I got bored the other day and deleted my uber-save so I've spent the last couple of GT sessions doing licenses and stuff like that. Bob's been fired this time round, A-spec all the way, just to see if I can.

Anyway, new times from my brand new Spec-C Scoobaroo. I had to work bloody hard to pay for that too.

T1 0'32.630
T2 1'17.823

Two seconds quicker than my previous effort at the finish. I'd better thank Kent too as I used his settings as a base and just softened things up a bit to suit.

Just got to make every session count now as I can't afford to buy and tune another car. :grumpy:

Darren.

After reading through all this, I might have to try out Hugo's setup when I give this a go. I love to drift around corners, and I am quite good at tossing cars into them sideways. Trail braking to the extreme!

Of course, I am a Subaru guy, and I likey my old Type R thingy! I just ran it at like 340 HP on S2 (was in a big hurry, just wanted to get a feel for the track) and got some 1'22 or something. So lots of room there.

Sorry man! I'm no longer there! Which car are you in?

The same car as you:D, and what do you mean your gone?

Right on. By that I meant that I'm faster than my current splits. I'm not going to update my splits anymore though this week. I'm making my move into D1, and I want it to be a suprise. Also, splits don't mean too much this week because of how much time is floating around in the last sector. 👍

Going to submitt in a moment from my last sptits, my man Marc has me mad on Duvel so I can't run anymore on this one, I'll give a better effort on the next wrs combo I like.

You killed me James!

Ok, that's what you mean. And you are right about the last part of the track:scared:.

It's a good first go, so good job:tup:. And I will see you next week:).

Cheers James, this should be number 100 so lets see if I can post an av....

Sorry mods I couldn't wait. :p

As long as it's not a post that just has "post 100" in it I think it's ok.
