GT4 WRS Week 86: "T Minus 10-9-8..."

Hmmm...well the NTSC thing is a bummer so definitely we'll have to say the Opel Speedster is fine. As for tyre wear I'm happy to make that mandatory too, just means everybody who's had a run will need to do another. I don't mind but Andy and Steven have every right to be pissed if I were to change rules. If both of you guys don't mind, I'll change the rules to make it strong tyre wear 👍

As for which splits to show, the total time after X laps is just a bit too revealing I think but again it's up to others 👍
 
I think saying final laptimes of 3-4 of the laps is enough, but:
Splits (on regular weeks) always tell you how much time passed since the beginning. And since we have 40 seconds a lap, saying the time by, say, lap 3 and 6 could be sufficient. Perhaps even splits-only (I mean, T-times) on those two laps, results in::
Lap 3: T1, T2
Lap 6: T1, T2.
This won't tell too much, and will keep to the WRS Tradition of never mentioning full laptimes...
 
With all the confusion about exactly what the race entails, debating further issues is only going to cut in on people's racing time so I'm gonna jump in here so people aren't confused:
  • CAR: Opel Speedster Turbo OR Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
  • TYRE WEAR: Strong (Unless Bigracer and shockwaveracing are against it which is unlikely)
  • SPLITS TO SHOW: Lap 1, 5, 9 individual times
  • A.I CONTACT: No contact whatsoever
To show progressive race splits you guys would need to sum up the individual laps yourself which will end up problematic, the individual laps will do, it may not be perfect but we'll get a good indication through it 👍

I just tried that, stupid Lexus rear ended me on the third lap! Or is that front ended me?

But I think if I can find a lineup that doesn't get in my way too much I'll try it, earlier at +7 I had 70 pts, now at +3 I get 74 pts, WTF! :dunce:
 
Adjustments are looking good, Colby 👍 One more thing... What about mentioning first lap, slowest flying lap and fastest flying lap? That gives a nice indication, but keeps it interesting for the overall time.

This is going to be a fun one. Competitive too!

Tire wear is a factor for sure.
Lap 1: 49.122
Lap 5: 41.296
Lap 9: 42.023

Don't know how I can beat that and still be clean but there's always a way!!

been playing FF12 lately

and everyday at work now ive been feeling so depressed at my dreams of becoming an actual racer... the money involved requires so many sacrifes

so GT4 will have to do for now

nice to be back, will try a little DUI

Difference in PAL and NSTC systems
 
Something about those posts makes me think OldDriverDan is drunk. NightmareHunter: There are AI in the races, because the race is in single player in arcade mode, which puts you up againt other (stupid and idioticly behaving) cars, which makes the race more difficult.

first crack with tyre wear on... still a couple of seconds left in it (inicdently this run was about 4.5 seconds slower than without tyre wear on...

Lap 1: 47.643
Lap 5: 40.776
Lap 9: 41.017

had some lapped traffic so i might have to raise the AI a bit to 8 or 9
 
Any chance I could run the Opel Speedster non Turbo version? I just like the way it feels more...

The more I wait, the more fun the race will be:D.
Anyways this race looks like fun, so I will give it a try.
And I have to beat my sister anyways;).

AWw fine... even though it only has like 170 something HP, it does weigh 760 kg or so. But it just slides around more, which is how I like to drive... silly Turbo understeers alot.

But if you insist ;) Back to the muscle Speedster of doom...
 
Yeah I could, but then it would grip better as the front wore out. Which would be no fun :P

Just take the NA out for a spin, you'll see what I mean with the difference. I actually pulled faster averages with the NA when I ran it (mid 41) than with the Turbo. But this is a result of my driving being something from Initial D with small minimal countersteer drifting being more of it than grip racing...

And odd fact about these two cars - The Opel Speedster NA can actually achieve a higher power to weight ratio than the Turbo in GT Mode at full tune. Max power is still lower, but the game allows for a turbo to be put on the NA model, which combined with its stock weight being about 150 kg less, makes for a nice power to weight ratio.

If you are wondering why I know all this, I have slight obsession with the Speedster in GT after a WRS event when GT3 was around using the speedster at Route 11 or something, and I then used it on the PWR 3.0, with a 100 grand spending cap, to out do some V8 power and RX-7's :p

had another crack at it, with AI set to 6 and they have Sports Soft tyres on, never lapped them which was good, and am only 1.5 seconds behind my previous best without tyre wear now... starting to enjoy this race a little more not that i have found some AI that are happy to play ball...

i'm not pissed about the rule change colby so 👍 with the tyre wear. spend most of my spare time on my family rather than racing and my first laps that are on the board are just a first effort cos metar wanted to add a second line to your first entrance at luxy's.
 
Having a break from the JGTC for a couple of days, so I will go and run this combo now. BBL with some splits.

I was starting to miss the WRS...

Which car are you using? I just lapped the whole field bar 2 on +9 on SS. I'm using the VX maybe the Speedster has a different AI set.
