WHAT IS IT?
The WRS Photomode Competition allows WRS'ers the opportunity to show their Photomode skills. You're task is to create a picture that can be used for the Week 88 results thread (much like the example above.) At the end of the week all entries in this thread will be judged by myself or the previous winner (Bigracer) and a new winner will be determined.

WHAT ARE THE RESTRICTIONS
The only restrictions placed on the photo you create are:
  • Photo must be 400 x 300 pixels
  • Photo must relate to the Week 88 race
  • Photo must contain the phrase "WRS Week 88 Results"
  • Photo must be submitted before Tuesday the 2nd of January
And that's it! Only one photo per competitor but feel free to update your entry during the week 👍

So what are you waiting for........get out there and start racing and/or snapping some pics :sly:

well since it is winter in europe i thought i would give this week's picture a bit of a season's impression. guess it's lovers or haters on this one ...

EDIT deleted the border to mar's request.
but why am i posting a picture? i'm supposed to be the judge this week :)

then how do you like this one?

wrsweek88resultsc.jpg

What's with the crazy negative camber in the second pic?

I have a few pics that I'm going to submit that I really like, if someone could give me a hand resizing them and adding some good looking text (week 88 results), I'd greatly appreciate it.

If no-one else can, I can give you a hand. Just post your favorite pics, I'll take care of them over the week-end.

to sean
remember most shots you take in photomode in gt4 are way too dark. if you want good results you should compensate the picture before taking the actual photo by plussing the correction by say +0.3. it'll help big time!

to mar/ouan: what's with the flames in the wrs text? i would say keep it simple for optimum results.

I'll have try to get a pic this week. Not alot of people this time.
I'll see if I can get it tomorrow. I have Paint.NET, and HP ImageZone,
so I'll be able to do something. Laters.

Sammy.

Edit:
@Sean_BBB
If you need help, I'll help you. I can do all kinds of stuff in Paint.NET and HP ImageZone.
If you like, you can just PM me or post what you want done to them. Whatevers easier.
The reason I say I can help, is because Flat-Out is most likey busy with stuff. And this will it easier for him.
If you don't mind Sir.Flat-Out?

I took the car for a photoshoot today, it's just so photogenic... But it looks even better in video. The jerky suspension, the red paintjob, the body-styling - it's just perfect all around. Except for the insides. This car is one of the best-handling Fwds out there - but why should a rallycar be Fwd?

A picture or two will be up soon.

sean you'd better get to work with sammy or cyril cos i have to pick a winner of this week real soon!

to cyril: i will pick a winner but not before tuesday morning. i will be celebrating 31/12 with friends elsewhere but will do the photocomp winner picking by tuesday at, say, 9 in the am.

I don't mind at all. Please help yourself Sammy.

I'm indeed busy with hundreds of things ATM (as usual) and every hour is worth being saved. :D

If someone deems my pictures worthy, and on par with the others, if someone wants to help out by putting them through a brightness filter, and adding the necessary text and resizing, that'd be awesome!

Very close Mr. P, since your never went off the rumble strips, is that still legal for a clean time?

Very close Mr. P, since your never went off the rumble strips, is that still legal for a clean time?

Yep thats correct mate 👍 as long as 2 wheels are still in line with the outer edge of the rumble strip the lap will be valid in most OLR events :)

The pic I posted above is actually 1 of 4 taken from the exact same frame and you would only see in one of the other pics that the car is well inside the boundaries and that the car is actually all 4 wheels 5 inches in the air! hence why this angle creates the close to off effect when it is safe by a good few centimetres ;)

I'm fairly new to WRS. Can the third wheel be partially off the track ? (half on the rumble strip) ?

@Sean_BBB
I'll copy the pics you have, and brighten them and add the WRS Week 88 Results to it. I'll post them tonight. And when I post them I'll put that there your pic and not mine. Then I'll post my pic. Laters.

Sammy.

PS. I'll just edit this post if no one post before I get the pics done.

Edit:
Ok. Here they are mine and Sean_BBB's Pic's.
To start, Sean_BBB's Pic's
One

Two

Three

And Four

And now, mine.:sly:

And there you have it. Mine and Sean_BBB WRS Week 88 Results Picture's.
Enjoy. Later.

Sammy.:D

to sean - the rules about the photocomp state that

Only one photo per competitor but feel free to update your entry during the week
now i don't want to be too strict about anything but it sort of feels like cheating if you just post a heap of pics. so my suggestion is that you pick your picture you like best and delete the others from your post. if not i'll suppose your picture 'one' is the one you enter for the photocomp. ok?

thanks.

I'm fairly new to WRS. Can the third wheel be partially off the track ? (half on the rumble strip) ?

Of course.
The rule says that 2 wheels have to stay in contact with the track / rumble strip.
Look at the pic posted by Mr P.
The rumble strip is located on the inside of the turn, so the 2 left wheels are totally on the grass, and most of the 2 right wheels is off track too.
But since they both are still connected to the rumble strip, the lap is perfectly clean (assuming that the pic shows an extremum and that there is no off anywhere else)

here's all 4 pics from different camera's and all from the exact same frame at the closest point to any off :)

This one below is the one that I reckon would have people saying it is dirty but I assure you its simple because the car has air between the tyres and the surface and it creates the illusion that the car is driving on the grass :sly:

I have finished with WRS88 now and these photo's are from the actual lap I will be submitting ... the replay has been sent to another driver for scrutiny also as a back up opinion before I submit 👍 I will also post the replay in the results and others can judge too :)

Cheers
Ron.

this week's winner has been picked and s/he has been pm'd.

Hey Steven there is a day and a half left yet before the end of this weeks race. And you said you would pic one on tuesday early morning?

You said it here ???

Yeah, that's a lot of time! I still have my photos on the PC, and I've got school in a moment...
