Some interesting things there... The short first cog, and the extreme brakes especially.

How's the wheelspin in 2nd? I lengthened my first-gear, so 2nd would start higher...
 
There's some wheelspin in 2nd gear, but feathering the throttle with the DFP reduces it to an acceptable level.

That brake balance is just about the opposite of what I'm using -- I have stronger brakes in the rear, so it understeers less when under braking. I've found that (for me, anyway) having to let off the brakes to get the car to steer is just not a good thing.

New splits for me:
T1: 1'09.969
T2: 2'07.442

My old splits aren't on the board -- I guess this week really is dead, with the leaderboard not being updated and all. :sly:
 
A question for all of you who have been playing with brake balance.

I've been incrementally increasing rear brake to try to initiate a bit of rotation on turn in without much success, so I decided to max out the rear brakes. Much to my surprise nothing changed, so I reversed the balance with front brakes maxed and again no change in the braking chracteristics - that is, the balance feels the same and braking distances seem to be the same whether the brakes are 6/4, 1/24 or 24/1. I did also try removing the racing brakes and turning on ASM just on the outside chance that these might be interfering but again no difference.

Any thoughts??

The truth is that it is a good thing. At least physics wise... If you can brake in a straight line and start steering when you let off the brakes, you'll find yourself going faster when you get it right.

@ 2078TM: I do notice some small differences myself with the brake balance, but it's hardly noticable. When front and rear values are too high, the braking distance increases I noticed. But what's the use of it then when you can set them so high? Got no idea :boggled:
 
With Hugo's setup and powerslidin' skillz, I managed:
T1: 1'09.333
T2: 2'05.696
I'm happy! :)
I might be able to do better, but I'm submitting now...

2'02.967 (seen .7)

I totally missed the apex at Hairpin, but for the rest I'm content with my lap. I get a DRE now when I want to save a replay, so it makes no sense trying to find those last tenths anymore :sick:

Need to buy a new copy of GT4 this week if I want to play coming week. There goes another 30 Euro's :grumpy:

Had a lot of fun though running this week. Managed a for me almost perfect setup, which made this combo very enjoyable 👍

Amen! I've yet to get a clean run with a decent time. I'll give it a couple of more tries later today then chalk it up to my usual "LOFT" problem. :grumpy:

edit: Best T1- 1'12.xxx. Some body get me a gun!!

I know that Normal tires and low powerfull cars are one of my weakeness points but even so, I can't easely see a full tenth left in my in lap so I'm done with this combo.

If you care to share your final setup after the end of the race it would be a great way to learn a bit more 👍

I can only hope that others flubbed up the Triangle as much as I did (this run's a tenth slower than my average through that section, but I can't repeat the rest of the course, at least not now):

T1 - 1:09.399
T2 - 2:05.483
 
Which has me asking, in what gear do you guys pass that corner? I'm still torn between 2nd and 3rd, especially because of the Turbo/NA question - NA's larger powerband is quicker with 3rd, while the Turbo seems equally fast...
 
2nd (using the turbo and pretty much Hugo Boss' transmission and LSD settings). I generally get wheelspin if I mat the accelerator below 55 there.
 
Well, using Hugo's setup, I managed to shave 0.8 off my total time. Although my T1 is actually worse than my previous splits -- so there's definitely another 0.2 or more in it for me... I'll give it another go tonight before submitting...

T1: 1'10.111
T2: 2'06.633

I truly don't see how y'all are getting in the low 1'08s for T1 -- I'm certainly not doing my best at 1'10.111, but I just can't see shaving two whole seconds off of my T1.

Agree with the statement concerning the low 1'08's but then I've seen some remarkable times from this group.

Best I can do:

1'10.976 (which is by the way better than 2" of my first keeper run)
2'09.922

I'm sure I could get a few more tenths off......but 2 more seconds is not in the cards. :grumpy:

Alright fellas. I improved by about 0.5 so far, but with a slightly worse T2. Lost a lot in the hairpin. Though, I've already managed to cut 0.3 on T1, only to mess up the Spoons about 5 times...

EDIT: We should have a super-close finish in Div2 this week. Just look at T1 and T2 :p
