hell all and welcome at last to the first round of this WTCC championship!

We are here in Tsukuba for round 1, we expect a sell-out croud here and one heck of a race between the GT500 and DTM as well as the GT300.

Qualifying is over and the results are in the last post in this thread.

Race time now.

Options: Arcade Mode: Lap Number: 20: everything else should be off

Arcade Mode: Single Race

Track: Tsukuba Circuit

2 Race times by sunday night

Good Luck out on the track!!

Why do you need to PM two times? I don't get it.

are we allowed to post any times in this thread

@ icemanshooter, its quite hard to explain but im trying to make the qualifying like F1 but if it doesnt work out then it will only be one time as of round 2, so we will see how it goes.

@ small_fryz, you may discuss T times but no laps times 👍

Does the DTM/GT500 combined class get a point as well?

ok, i will get the T1 and T2 of my best 2 saved laps.

Ah i get it now, so they are gonna be combined, nice i think that is good idea 👍

Here it is
Best / .09 slower
T1: 11.408 T1: 11.301
T2: 25.729 T2: 25.801

Saved and clean :) should be able to take .1 or so out of my best and about .2 from my other lap.

So] are we able to change top speed setting or not? I urge you to consider allowing it because it will make the competition more even. It's not as if you are making the car any different, just changing the gearing. What I really don't want to happen is being stuck with 30 laps at la sarthe and hitting the rev limiter on the straight every time. That just wouldnt be fun.

yeah, you can change your top speed.

@ small_fryz, thanks, i got the idea from F1 mainly.

so now you say change top speed lol, oh well i can drop about .5 off my times i think now i can change top speed. will get to work tommorow

Changing top speed eah? Oh! It's 'on now brother!'....:D

This should be some seriously fun racing!

Later-

SimRaceDriver:

The two times idea is irrelevant though, because we have an unlimited session. They have exactly two chances to get a time at all in F1, which is why they have two times. It'll just be a hassle here.

changing top speed... litlle late to decide that, i allready had my two Qs, guess it will be a long nite tonite :-) but isn't that a quick tune? so it should in fact be changed in the rules
well, off to work now.... :yuck:

Do both laps need to be saved? I just got two really good ones (for me, probably terrible for you guys :dopey: ) within a few laps, and I'm settling with them. I don't see why we would need the second lap's replay, if you can prove you did the faster one then the slower shouldn't be a problem. I may try just a few more laps and see if I can better them. This is the most fun I've had with an OLR so far. I don't know why I didn't like doing this in the WRS.

Hey Sven, I was afraid you weren't going to make it in time! 👍

neither qualifying lap needs to be saved. only the races from this weekend are to be saved.

im going to post a poll on qualifying ahead of round 2 to see what everyone prefers, single or double lap qualifying.

well, the qualifying is over, in the next post you will see the results and the drivers who receive an extra point for their fastest time in all classes.

good luck in the race

here we go!

Overall

Class Results

Well done to icemanshooter who receives an extra point for his GT500 fastest time, Small_Fryz for his DTM fast time and Nitro_2005 for his GT300 fast time

Oooh Yesss!!!! Get In There!!!! Wow, I Can't Believe It!

Ok, so no tire wear correct?

correct 👍

oh snap my bad guys i had computer problems last night and couldnt turn in for qualifying does that mean im getting points deducted?

2 race times? Why on earth do we need that? They don't do 2 races at F1 events, do they?

P.S. Ebiggs, methinks we might be handicapped by our car choice...

@ uberkid, you will not get points deducted :)

@ Sven, after round 1 i am considering changing the format of the races, possibly so its only 1 qualifying time and 1 race time.

I thought that too...After looking at qualifying times. GT, do you think some added power would be considered to make it more even in the later races?

I also second only having one race. I had a good one going last night to the 11th lap, turning lots of low 50's, but then I got a tire off under a hard turn and spun out. The PS2 was off for the night, so I now have to do two races... :nervous:

Not sure what you're reading in these threads here Sven but the only reference to "F1" was the point system for Qualifying Times & extra points to the driver....and nothing more....

exactly, besides, the real WTCC drives 2 races of approximatly 20 laps, both on the same day, so we are lucky to do one race saterday and one on sunday.
and i think its nice to be doing 2 races. messed up on my first one though :nervous:

OLRs are a lot different than live events though. Like I said before, F1 gives exactly two attempts at a qualifying time, whereas you have unlimited attempts in an OLR. Unlimited attempts makes multiple times irrelevant, especially if you only use one of them. (I know he only referred to F1 in the qualifying, but I thought he was just taking the idea to excess...).

P.S. the power handicapping wouldn't be a bad idea...they do something like that in the JGTC to keep races close. I should have invenstigated my options more though...

I wonder how my original choice of the NSX would have been? :p
